5870 Noise,

Looked around a bunch of forums, havent found much on this issue but basically the problem is the same as this guy.

I dont know how wide spread this might be, I could use some feed back... my friend posted a vid of what is going on ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-pk7nmNkbU ), it is kinda hard to hear it... or distinguish from the sounds. It is really loud in person though.

I couldn't hear anything but the fan on that video you linked.
Try unplugging the speaker wires and move the case or monitor/speakers further away to try to limit electromagnetic interference?

Sounds like increased airflow to me (from the youtube video). It might be a loud bearing. If it's a worry take it back to where you bought it and see what they say.

yeah if you turn your speakers all the way up.. you can hear it.. sounds like electrical noise almost but id say its the bearings in the fan that might be bad..

when you set the fan to 0 percent.. does the noise completely stop? and if you turn the fan up to say 50-60 percent does the sound get louder?

I'd wager the ball bearings or the fan my be messed up. I cant ever hear my 5870's fan (my GTX260 however, yeesh).

it could be coil noise

i cant even heard my 5870 when gaming and i run a pretty quiet system
