I've also got a evga 7800 gt and I notice in your sig that you've got a pretty big overclock on it.
I've noticed that in certain games when I overclock it too much, I experience similar problems. If the drivers don't fix it, try dropping it down closer to stock settings. I had to do this...
I made a mistake buying a power supply with a 20-pin connector. I know the DFI's don't like the 20 to 24 pin converter, but would there be any problems using it with my Asus A8n-e motherboard? I hope I don't have to get a new psu :(

That card has been sold but thank you for the input. I was a little worried about the brand because I have heard of those cards overheating easily. However, $35 or so seems like a worthwhile upgrade.
To make it short - I'm building a new midrange computer. I would prefer to get an ATI card as I have always liked them more. So I like these two choices or I can wait it out for the new cards, what do you suggest?
