Ooops, actually I just checked and it doesn't work with Vista, so it's no good for me. I guess I have to keep on searching.
Any other USB tuners/console adapters recommendations?
Thanks for pointing that one out, it looks exactly like what i've been looking for. And I found them on the net for not too much money... i might just spring for one and see how it goes.
Thanks everyone for your advice. i guess the best/only solution is a TV tuner card. Thing is, I don't have anymore PCI slots free on my mobo. So I'm thinking a USB tuner with composite, S-Video or better yet component inputs.
Is there such a thing?
Hi y'all,
I want to hook up my Wii to my 30" LP3065 monitor. I bought a cable (http://www.vdigi.com/) but only it doesn't seem to be working, either because the cable can't output the correct signal, or because the monitor can't handle the low res of 640X480 that it's sending.
Problem is the...
I looked at trueimage, but unless I missed something, whatever incremental backup it does is a compressed mage and not an exact copy of the directories and files of my main drive.
Did I miss something? I'm curious cause otherwise I love trueimage and if it did have that function (incremental...
Hey guys, thanks again for all these suggestions. I'll be checking into those programs.
Mscrip. your dos batch file seems exactly like what I'm after, I too have a drive for Windows and another one for data. Only thing is, I would like to be able to schedule my backups to run at specific...
Thanks for these answers, however maybe I wasn't clear about what I'm looking for. What I'm after is an incremental backup software that doesn't create an archive or image, but rather an exact copy of the disk, one that would be ready to be taken out of the enclosure and used to replace a...
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a solid disk backup software to backup my internal hard drive to an external one. I specifically need the following function: an incremental backup system that, instead of creating a self-contained image file, creates a carbon copy of the drive and then just...
Hi evryone,
I just purchased a new system, which includes (among others) an ASUS P5E VM HDMI mATX mobo, a Q9450 CPU, a Ninja Mini heatsink and a Silverstone GD02-MT case.
I'm a little confused about the installation of the Mini. Since this case and mobo are mATX, I don't have a lot of choices...
Hi everyone,
I just finished reading all 33 pages of this thread, great info. I'm planning to get his board ASAP but I have one question before I do so: at the beginning of the thread, it was stated that whenever a PCI-E GPU was plugged in, it immediately disabled the X3500 IGP. That would...
Cool, thanks for the response. Just curious, how many fans have you attached in each input? Also, is there a way to determine if everything is running ok, or if there is a problem?
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of setting up a fan controller on my rig. The only problem is, I currently have 11 fans in my case (I know, I'm crazy).
I searched and there is no fan controller that takes that many fans. So i was wondering if I can daisychain more than one fan together and plug them...
Ok, thanks for all the info, i understand the whole thing now. I'll just buy an upgrade version to vista utlimate and be done with it. Does anyone know though if the upgrade versions are both 32/64 bit or is it one or the other like for the OEM versions?
Guys, since I'm the one who started this thread I felt I should respond; I certainly didn't think my question would lead to suh a heated debate (not that I mind, makes my reading more interesting;)).
But so far most of the discussions have focused on to whether or not we can upgrade Vista or...
Thanks for all the responses. So, does that mean that my OEM copy of WinXP that came with my laptop can only be reinstalled on my laptop? I'm asking because I've already reinstalled it many times on other machines without a problem. So it doesnt look like it's tied to my laptop's motherboard. if...
Hi everyone,
I'm just about ready to buy Vista Ultimate, but, even though I've searched these forums extensively, I still have two questions:
1. I own a genuine XP Pro disc that came with my laptop. I have successfully installed it many times over on various machines throughout the years. Can...
Agreed, but I'm not talking about leaving whitespace, but rather repositioning the PCI E slots so they don't overlap with the other slots when using big graphics cards. that should be doable.
This situation sucks. i understand Nvidia doesn't have a choice; they have to make their heatsinks big in order to cool their beasts. But why oh why can't motherboard manufacturers make mobos that have enough space between the PCI-E slots? is that too much to ask?
Hey everyone,
as much as I want to get my hands on a 8800 (or two in SLI), I hate the idea of losing the adjacent PCI slot. So, are there any single-slot G80s planned for release? I know about the watercooled BFG, but I would rather avoid dealing with watercooling. Or are there at least any...
Money is not an object, as I said my priority is figuring out a way to power and temp control automatically 10 fans when my mobo will only take 5. So what do you recommend: doubling up on the Y-splitters, connecting 5 to the mobo and 5 to the PSU (if it's possible) or getting a bay-mounted...
Thanks for all this info everyone, I'm getting the picture now... It does seem very complicated, so i guess maybe i should just buy a front bay-mounted fan controller. But the thing is, my main concern is that I don't want to deal with the manual control of the fans. Basically, I want to try to...
I checked the manual of the i5000XL and, concerning fan headers, it says the following:
Does that mean that every fan header can hadle only one 12V fan, or two? Because most fans out there are 12V, I haven't seen some that draw only 6V. So what do you guys think?
This is kind of a specialized question: I'm planning to get the mozart TX which has space for 10 fans. Problem is, my motherboard (Tyan i5000XL) only has 5 fan headers. So my question is: is there any way to hook up more than on fan on the same mobo header? And if so, will they both be temp...
Hey everyone,
I'm interested in getting a portable hard drive to carry large files around (I'm a video editor). I've been doing some research and with all the options out there, i can't make up my mind, so i need some advice.
1. 2.5'' or 3.5"? I know the latter has more space, but i'm really...
Okay so a lot of the questions i posted have been answered, a few more remain:
1. I emailed GamePC, because they're the only site who sells both the Mozart and the Tyan i5000XT mobo . Here's their reply when i asked if it will fit:
Are they right? From the pictures you posted on this thread...
Wow, thanks a lot guys, that answers most of my questions.
Droopz, since you own the case, I want to ask you a few more things:
- apparently judging by your comments and FORNWAGAIN's picture there is a lot more space for the mobo than i thought. Do you think then that a full-size EATX mobo...
Hi everyone,
I'm about to spend some serious dough and completely renovate my PC. The basis of my build will be TT Mozart TX. I'm pretty much set on which components to buy, but there are some things I'm not sure about.
Please don't flame me if some of these questions are newbie-ish...
Actually you are right, I am planning on letting the PC handle the video post-processing, wether with Purevideo (using the GPU) or with FFDShow (using the CPU). But in both cases, unless I'm mistakes, a 1080p signal is preferable to any other res since my projector (the Sony VPL VW50) is a true...
