Hi evryone,

I just purchased a new system, which includes (among others) an ASUS P5E VM HDMI mATX mobo, a Q9450 CPU, a Ninja Mini heatsink and a Silverstone GD02-MT case.

I'm a little confused about the installation of the Mini. Since this case and mobo are mATX, I don't have a lot of choices for the placement of the components.

Scythe says I should place the included 80mm fan in a way that will blow air on the fins of the Mini. However in the case I also have two 80mm exhaust fans really close to the heatsink.

If possible, i'd like to overclock, so I'm looking for the best airflow soution. So, what would be the best way to mount all this? Here are my options:

- The Mini with its fan on one side (front or side) and on the opposite side (rear) the case exhaust fans.
- The Mini with its fan at the rear (blowing air) right next to the exhaust fans (sucking air)
- The Mini without any fan at all, just sitting close to the exhaust fans of the case (but not really touching them)

Any ideas? Thanks.

Sorry to shamelessly bump this, but I need to build the PC this afternoon. So anyone has a suggestion for this problem?

Thanks.

If you're overclocking, then the first option with the fan at the front-face of the Ninja.

I was going to install the new Rev. B which is even smaller but my CPU is too far forward. It sucks as I could have used the case fans similar to the NT01-E which is outdated since CPU's are no longer that far to the right and PCI-E 16x slots are first and not 1x.

Id hook it up to a shop vac in reverse to my computer case, then you'll see what REAL air cooling is all about. In any case just give it a feu more years on the air cooling topic and this kind of setup probably won't be too far from the truth.

Besides that for normal people just slap some fan or two on your heat sink, and it should work out just fine.
