That would be Parm (the author of the article) as he's been a member of Hexus for quite a while before being an administrator on the we play X-box site.
And he hasn't had a console back yet (at least I haven't seen him logged in on my friends list)
UMK3 is already on the 360 arcade, came out a couple of weeks back.
The 360 needs a decent joystick, the D-pad is too "floaty" fro my tastes (I much prefer the snes style + shaped pad) and the analogue stick has too much travel to be any good for beat-em-ups.
KI on the snes was my favourite...
I'm running an Athlon 64 +3500, with a BFG 6600 GTOC @ Max res, med textures, no shadows, no water effects and I'm finding it reasonable (don't know exactly what frame rate as I haven't checked)
I know what you mean, When I was playing against Steve in Burnout: Revenge during one of the XBL weekends, I had a blast. He's a really funny guy.
Speaking of which, we really need to sort out some more XBL weekends, they were a great way to make friends with fellow [H]'ers
Got my camera in the week, really like it so far. My gamertag picture (for those of you on my friends list) is now my ugly mug - so now you know what I look like :)
The deal is pretty good (I went for the basic pack - cam/headset/1 month XBL/UNO) and I was tempted to get a 2nd headset...
Glad you've got it sorted out,
I've got the same joypad (although here in the UK it's a Mad Catz), the socket on the reciever is the same as the sockets on a normal joypad which are for memory cards or XBL headsets, although plugging a headset into that defeats the purpose of going wireless :)
I haven't got very far with it so far (only played for a couple of hours, and still on Imphyy), but I am enjoying it. I like button mashers, I even bought DW5: Empires (£30), simply because I wanted N3 but didn't think it was worth £50 (I eventually found N3 for £30 in Gamestation).
I'll...
actually you can download the XBL Arcade games to a memory card (I think one of the requirements of an XBL Arcade game is that the game file size is small enough to fit onto a memory card), although it's still not really practical.

I remember writing a batch file linked to the autoexec.bat so that when I booted the PC the first thing it did was display a menu with a list of my games. By pressing the right key (and, if needed, with the CD in the drive) it would automatically load the correct drivers and set the...
I borrowed Madden from one of my mates for a week before he ebay'd his copy (I'm in the UK, and know Jack about American Football, in fact I don't follow sports at all).
I got all the achievements for it in 1 week, and you know what? I found I really enjoyed the game (except for the simulate...
I just went through the options and manualy pointed to my steam folder for each of the games in my steam folder. It seemed a bit hit and miss about what it would acknowledge in my steam folder though (e.g. would not see project freeman (that 2d side scroller that came free) despite there being...
I've done around 60 ranked matches now (25/35 Win/Loss rate) and I've found around 5 E. honda's, 2 Ryu's, 3 Guile's (same person 3 matches in a row - thought that was supposed to be unlikely to happen), 2 Blanka's, 4 Chun Li's, 1 Vega, 1 Dhalsim and 1 M.Bison and the rest were all Ken's. It does...
I've played against 4 E. Honda players, 2 played decently and the other 2 just spammed 1 move repeatedly (Hundred hand slap and belly flop) which didn't give you any chance to counter
I've had lag on one fight (and my opponent was like #6 on the rankins chart and from australia) other than that it's been fine. I've played 38 ranked matchs so far, although I've only had around 13-14 wins (I cannot get used to the D-pad on the 360 pad it's far too loose compared to the old snes...
2 & 3 were really good, I haven't played the 4th one yet though. I'd go for 2 & 3 first (they should be really cheap by now) plus 3 has you playing as Jean Reno, how can they top that?
Not much to expand on really, I used an MS Explorer, and it only worked in the menus not in the actual game. I used the beta back in march (I think? it was on the cover of OXM) and only had the game installed for 1 weekend (after spending a good few hours installing and then another couple of...
Bought the game yesterday on the strength of the demo on this months OXM360 UK cover disc. That and Game had it on offer for £19.99.
Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but I'll definitly play it soon
(maybe we could add it into the XBL weekends when they start back up?)
until I got used to it, I found if I used an excel spreadsheet setup with 1-9 in each cell of a 9x9 grid and then copy the sudoku puzzle into the correct cells and then just eliminate the numbers in each 3x3 grid row and column. It's not a quick method by any means, but it does get you used to...
I've got 4 wavebirds, with controller 1 on frequency 1, 2 on 2, etc...
However by turning controller 1 to frequency 2 doesn't mean that I can control player 2. I think the controller/ reciever are paired but the frequency dial is just there in case of signal disruption.
To join the mages guild just go to one of the guild halls in a town and speak to the head of the guild hall he/she will give you a quest. You need to visit each of the guild halls and complete the quest given to you before your given access to the main guild in the main city.
You can fast...
are you kidding?! that's the easiest part of the game... :D
Seriously though, it is a fun game, and one which should earn at least some time in everyones collection. It's just a shame it's so short (and the controls for the water beastie are so annoying)
I've slowly replaced all my wired GC pads with Wavebirds, especially as I've found a shop near me which sells them for £14.99 (which is cheaper than the wired pads which go for £20). I've got 1 left to get.
Edit: make that 0 left to get :D
Alright maybe not strictly backwards compatibility, maybe more sideways compatibility:
SNES had Gameboy adapter
Game Cube had Gameboy Advance adapter
Okay, so you had to buy an adapter to get them to run but it still allowed you access to a greater library of games than you would have had with...
