It's impossible to get the xbox 360 to display the proper aspect ratio on this monitor via VGA as far as I can tell. This is so irritating. I bought this stupid cable so I didn't need to use a component switcher.
VGA cables can support high resolutions so the 2405fpw won't know the difference between an xbox and a PC. It should look better assuming the component input isn't truly HD.
I just picked one up at best buy yesterday and I'm loving it so far.
I have a quick question though. I am having issues with the EZTune software. After installing my PC hangs and is completely unresponsive once the software loads. I had to reboot in safe mode and disable it in msconfig. It...
I wouldn't mind using aspect scaling for 1280x720 mode. I just don't want to drop 2 grand for some TV I will never watch TV on, that's my only concern.
Apparently there is a new version of the 2405 that supports HDCP so I may have to take a look at that I guess
I've been looking for a decent LCD for use with an xbox360. I've read countless spec sheets and I am still having trouble deciding.
I don't want an HDTV because I don't really watch tv, I just download individual episodes sometimes. I'm going to be using it as PC monitor as well.

FW900? Is that that 24" widescreen crt?
Does the xbox automatically send the black bars to the monitor? That monitor is 16:10 and you can't do 1:1 scaling on a crt like you can on an lcd.
good luck running any game newer than quake3 at 2560x1600. It won't be feasible to game at that resolution for a while since right now games are advancing faster than graphics cards (unlike the earlier days of 3d cards).
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Once you zero out a drive there is nothing left. No super secret mystery government scanning equipment can read your data after that. I think I trust a specialist in the field working for the government over "Steel Chicken" on HardOCP who...
