It’s really more of an economics question at this point. My 3090 runs well, but I’m trying to maximize performance per dollar. Are GPU prices expected to plummet anytime soon?
The 3090 ti probably won’t maintain value once the 4xxx series is released, but neither will the 3090.
If I upgrade...
I need to RMA my board due to a sound issue, but I can't find where on the motherboard the SN is. I tossed out the box cover that had the SN printed and my board is in my system with cards populating the slots. Can any save me the effort of disassembling my setup by letting me know where on...
I haven't done a full inventory yet, but am willing to for anyone seriously interested.
They're 2.26GHz or 2.6GHz Intel servers with SuperMicro motherboards. Most are full length, but a couple half too.
It's all or nothing, I'm trying to clean out my basement. No OS installed.
I'm looking at the EK review and seeing 1.43 vcore. I have mine set at 1.275 (shows 1.284 cpu-z) for the same overclock 100% stable. I haven't even bothered trying to push it lower (just set it and forgot it). Any owners want to chime in if this is normal? Does [H] just have an early fab unit?
For pickup in North Jersey. $400 for all. Motherboard failed, great gear otherwise.
3930k: $120
2x 32GB kit: $180
Edit: 32GB for $180, all 64GB for $300
System is a 4930k at 4.4GHz with Asus x79 Deluxe and 32GB Crucial Ballistix 2133.
One GTX770, one GTX 670 (don't ask), and Xonar Essence STX.
I know a working fix, just seeing if there's a better way of increasing the IMC stability.
I'm 100% stable on Prime95 a 1.230 Vcore until I run an...
So I have two 3TB Seagates in a Raid 1 on an Intel RST enterprise x79 board. They have the latest firmware, so the dead drive issue should be a non-issue.
I have read patrol enabled to check for errors, I know it can slow down the performance.. not a big deal.
Every few months, the system...
Apparently the F6 driver is different from the Win installation driver.. go figure.

So Corsair Link installed a 32-bit process named "Sierra2.GPU.exe" along with "SierraService.exe" up initial install. I look at my task manager, and Sierra2 is using 1-2% CPU on occasion, which I think is a bit strange. It's probably polling the GPU to check for temps and performance, but I...
So I have a new 3930k running at 4200 at 1.2v stable under prime. Using an h100 the temps max out at 70c.
Is it just me, or does this voltage seem really low?
Hey Everyone,
I have a legacy application Agilent Genesys 2004.7 which refuses to run under x64 Windows 7. The licensing scheme uses a Hasp Key (formerly Aladdin) to authorize the machine. The key has both 64 and 32 bit drivers, and is showing up properly with the 64 bit drivers under...
So I just configured a Hauppauge WinTV DCR-2650 for use with iO cable service. After grabbing the tuning adapter, even the premium channels work fine. That said, I would like to stream this video across the net to another computer. What is the best way to accomplish this on a Win7 box?
Does...
I've had the Auzentech Forte for a few years now. It replaced a perfectly functional X-Fi Fatal1ty, but I need to see if I could improve my sound. Every since day one It has buzzed depending on GPU usage, and the sound would also corrupt every now and again. The sound quality was an...
Here's a used WD velociraptor 150GB if anyone needs it. I upgraded to an SSD, but this guy is still very fast. Fast inexpensive storage, especially if you want to make a Raid 0 array with your existing VR.

Trying to get some cash for some hardware I don't have use for.

I thought this drive went bad in my array, but it might have just been a weird raid issue. I hooked it up and all was well. Checked out fine, reads and writes.
Already have a replacement, pickup as is for a 10 spot in North Jersey.

So I setup a SonicWALL router with IPSec VPN using DHCP, and I'm able to connect to the internal network without issue. There's a Netbios enable setting in the SonicWALL, and I clicked that on too.
There is a workgroup I'm trying to connect to now. The funny thing is.. the remote machine...
So apparently the 930 I bought has a default Vcore of 1.29375v which causes it to hit >95C and eventually reboot on a properly seated default cooler. I can easily under-volt it to 1.11875v with no problems.
It still seems like a defective chip that I wouldn't feel comfortable selling. What...
I'm currently in the processes of redesigning our current database. Until that is up and running, I need a band-aid fix for our current implementation.
We have one secretary who does most of the database work on her machine. The other secretaries now wish to modify files while she's working...
So I have the job of setting up a new network at work.. currently we have public ips for every workstation and we have a workgroup. We now want to convert to a nat and a domain.
Here are the problems.. my boss wants to keep his computers with the same public ip range... lets say 1.1.1.1...
So I'm trying to sell off my 1TB WD Green Power drives which were in my raid array. I have 8 of em, and they're in perfect condition at only 5mo old. Buy individual or all of em and have a sick array. They're all still covered under the 3yr warranty.
$70 each
edit: sorry, for the...
So I just lost 3tbs of fun stuff on my array... the important stuff was backed up.. so I'll have to redo my hd movies.. no big deal. But here is something you should watch out for...
I have 8 of the WD greenpower drives on a perc 5i. I kept seeing drive 2 of 0-7 dropping out, and at...
So my company is getting a new Blade server in with a DS4200 IBM SAN.
My question is this.. since no OS is installed on the SAN, how do I create raid arrays? Anyone with specific knowledge would be helpful. I was thinking about running the storage software from a linux boot usb. But if...
I just got my new q6600 and p5q pro and installed my new freezer 7 and overclocked to 3Ghz with 1.25v.
At first the temperature readings were way too high and I thought something was fishy. It would idle at 50C and jump to 80C in HWmonitor under load yet the heatsink was only warm to the...
I was hoping one of the geniuses here could help me out with a problem I'm having.
I just built a new computer with the following specs:
Q6600
Asus P5Q Pro
1x Samsung 22x SATA on Intel Controller
1x WD Raptor 150 on Intel
2x Hitachi 1TB on Intel
2x Maxtor 250GB on Intel
1x Seagate...
I saw the Physx demos with hair and cloth acceleration, but I don't see any games using them. If the PPU could give life to all of the games missing hair, I think it would be a big selling point.
I can't help but seeing games with incredible graphics like Crysis and Far Cry 2 look cheezy...
