I got a Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro today, installed everything and all was well. I played a game(Pro Evolution Soccer 2008) and noticed it was a little stuttery on the highest settings so decided to go download the highly recommended Omega 7.12 drivers from Omegadrivers.net. I installed...
Just ordered a Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro AGP to replace my now dated 6600GT. As I'm switching from Nvidia to ATI, I'm gonna need to get rid of the Nvidia Drivers. Been a long time since I've done this, do you have any advice? What is the best and most efficient way of doing it? I have Driver...
In the last couple of weeks I have noticed a bizarre noise coming from the inside of my case, that sounded like a car engine or something. It only happened on startup so when I switched the machine off and restarted, all would be well. In the last few days though it has started doing it out of...
...and perhaps a lame one at that, but if you don't ask you don't get :)
My Athlon 64 3400+ runs at 2.2Ghz, but according my system info it can run at a top speed of 3Ghz. Can I manually up the speed myself via the BIOS or whatever? I'm getting an X1950 pro video card(AGP) and I'm thinking...
I'm upgrading my 6600GT(see my other thread) and was gonna go for either a Leadtek 7600GT or a Sapphire 2600XT but this one is on special offer for £100 which is very reasonable. Only problem is, I don't have the funds to buy a new PSU on top of this. I've read a 450w+ one is recommended, and...
My Leadtek Nvidia 6600GT has served me really well for the last 2 and a half years, but it is now starting to struggle with some of the new games around. I bought this machine just before PCI Express came on the scene so it has to be an AGP card I upgrade to. Ideally I want one that will save...
I do a lot of music recording and 1GB just isn't cutting it anymore, particularly with some of the resource hungry plugins I tend to use. I know little about RAM but I did a system scan via the Crucial UK site and it recommended 2x 1GB of DDR PC2700(CT12864Z335). I currently have 2x 512MB...
If you've seen some of my other posts, you'll know for a while now I've been trying to identify the source of an irritating high pitched whining noise from inside my case. After swapping out my Antec PSU for a Seasonic one I have now found the culprit to me my Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 CPU Fan...
My PSU, CPU fan and case fan are all towards the back end of my case. This means there isn't much cooling at the front where the HD is. Under normal load, Speedfan gives it temp usually at around 41C at the most. Is this an OK temp, or should I perhaps look into say a HD cooler/another case fan?
Soon after getting my Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 CPU fan I noticed a high-pitched whining noise coming from it. I got an Antec Smartpower PSU at the same time and I was convinced the PSU was the cause of the noise. I replaced it with a Seasonic S12-430 and all seemed well. If you read one of my...
Hi, I'm new to the boards - great to be here :) I have this week replaced my Antec Smartpower PSU with a Seasonic S12 430 one. It works great and is really quiet, but unfortunately it seems as though it has affected the airflow and cooling in my case in a negative way. With the Antec, my...
