Call of Duty Black Ops 4

Well, just saw on Charlie Intels twitter page that the Xbox pre load for the black out beta is available now.

Call of Duty Black Out just isn't for me I'm sure everyone playing is 20 years younger than me anyway and think they are better in every chair sitting way.
Lots of walking around looking for other players I had more fun in Duke Nukem Forever.

Still will play the Base Game when in comes out just not Blackout.

Really is PUBG but with better graphics
 
Downloaded and ready to go on the Xbox One X when I get home from work!

Gonna let my twitch app run during the stream of either Shroud or Courage at noon today to get the key for the beta today on PC too. Twitch is running some promo, if you follow and watch their stream for an hour between 12pm PST to 2pm pst, you get a pc beta key a day before open beta.


Obviously your twitch account needs to be linked to your Amazon account via twitch prime for that benefit to work
 
Confirmed for me I just don't like the Battle Royal model. I have yet to play a game I enjoy with it.
 
I gave up on COD a long time ago, but I still downloaded the beta and will give it a go because of the BR mode. We'll see tomorrow morning.
 
I was interested in purchasing until I watched the stream. I didn't realize before that it was going to be so noob'tastic/arcade-like on PC.

1. Damage markers show you where people are firing from.
2. You hear a clank sound if you hit someones armor.
3. A ridiculous armor icon appears over your cross-hair if you hit someones armor.
4. Arrows on your screen periphery point to where your teammates are.
5. Super-fast movement speed, like twice as fast as PUBG etc.
6. Throwing axes.
7. Grappling hooks that launch you 100 meters.
8. Zombies, talk about beating a dead horse with a dead horse.
9. Extremely annoying arrows pointing down at loot, like people are blind.
10. Being able to jump on 8 foot tall shipping containers from the ground.
11. Huge muzzle flash graphics blocking your aim while firing.
12. Freezing you in place while looting.

I couldn't think of one thing it does better than PUBG. Blackout reminds me of a Quake Battle Royale.

The looting needs help, badly. Especially when looting a dead player. Just a display of icons with no descriptions. Game being so new I have no idea what 75% of the icons actually are. So I wind up picking things up just so I can read what it is, then have to drop it because I don't want it. Or getting too close to an item on the ground and you can't pick it up. Have to back off a step or two.

The muzzle flashing is annoying. You lose your target when trying to spray.

The hit direction markers are noobish. I hope they go away.

what did you expect though? its cod with br, they aren't gonna make it like pubg.

I played it for about 2 hours last night. I didn't do too well, got a couple kills here and there. the gun play is strange to me since I've only played one cod game and that was like 10 years ago. and the graphics look blurry the further away you are to stuff. like if you look at something on the ground its clear, but then if you look at that house thats 30 yards away its blurry, and then 100 yards even more blur. needs more anti aliasing. makes it hard to track enemy movement. the movement is really fluid though, vaulting works great. the weapon sights and scopes are pretty good and not over the top.

Yeah BR is not for me. I played 3 rounds so not exactly a fair shake but all 3 rounds went like this: gear up like a mad man, sneak aound looking for people to shoot, get killed by some guy who saw me first. One game I saw absolutely nobody the entire round, got popped by some guy off in the distance, and finished the round at #6 :D. BO4 might be fine in general but BR is not for me.
 
If they get rid of level 3 armor, and remove the 90 FPS cap this would be the best BR game on the market.... I'm kind of amazed by this... It makes me pissed in a sense, they could have done so much more for the series but up until now have sat with a thumb up their asses...

runs and looks like crap, as Ι expected lol

btw the in-game AA is shader based so it looks like vaseline applied to your monitor, thankfully you can turn it all off

movement is fluid and ATVs are suprising easy to control but that's about it

tried medium settings - 0x AA - high texture filtering - very high textures and I could not get the framerate to stay at frigging 90fps, it even went as low as 37 during the intro phase lol
there is some mumbo jumbo you can try for better framerate but I didn't bother,




don't think i will ever touch it again, keybinds are stupid, can't use mouse3 for map toggle - can't use ctrl for hold crouch AND crouch sliding, textures look like plasteline even on max setting ( Vram usage sits around 3.3gb @ 1080p btw )

60$ for a same old cod + zombies + BR + 0 single player ? yea right ....

I didn't think it was possible to make CoD even shittier but I have been proven wrong today, CoD + Battle Royale is the ultimate melding of a shitastic game engine with a shitastic game mode. At least the open betas enabled me to avoid spending any money on this dumpster fire.

It will grow on you I liked the antisocial warm-up area. What it comes down to a lot of people who play Battle royale don't know what type game they want.

You are so God damned right. COD MW was the last one I loved...MW2 was okay, but after that I have been done with the series. However, watching Shroud & DocDisrespect twitch streams of the BLOPS4 BO PS4 version earlier last week looked fun and convinced me to pre-order the PC version and give the beta a try.

Man what a festering pile of DOG SHIT BLOPS4 BO is! The looting mechanics are terrible and the looting process as a whole (compared to PUBG) is abysmal. Yes the COD controls are smooth, but the gunplay is NOT satisfying at all and the non-realistic weapons are all "cringe" to me. PRE-ORDER CANCELLED.

I know what kind of BR game I DO NOT WANT. I do not want Fortnight and I do not want BLOPS4BO. So far Pubg still gives me the best BR for my taste.

Dunno wtf you guys are talking about, game is very fun and fluid. I love it.

Currently playing on my Xbox one x because the PC version keeps crashing on me. And it runs great on the Xbox for being a beta. It'll only get better I assume.

i find myself....wanting to play more. what is this masochistic voodoo? is this the secret to battle royale games? deprive you of fun for 18 minutes and then explode in adrenaline-fueled fun for the last 2 minutes, leaving you wanting more?
 
Turned my settings down to medium on everything and ran the game as it should! Felt great to finish a game, ended like #12 or something but actually got a game in without crashing! Think it fixed my issue!
 
There are texture memory leaks. Turn your textures down and it won't crash. Also, don't have anything running in windows, like browsers and what not. Appears to be a system memory leak as well.

It is beta. I can only assume these issues will be addressed before launch.

Otherwise the game runs perfectly fine for me.
 
I didn't like it much. I dont like the gun play, and movement speed is so fast I felt like I was just hoping I'd get hits most of the gun fights. and then the graphics were really weird looking to me, like no clarity to them and hard to see enemies. I tried changing the settings but still wasn't satisified. I had one good round, 12th place with 4 kills. I think I may be tired of br games though. I wanted to like it
 
I gave up on CoD after BO2. I might give this one a chance, Blackout looks better than what I expected.
 
Blackout was decent enough (sounds are great btw) it's just the rest of the content is the same old garbage. Not enough for me to buy.
 
Those numbers are truly LOL.



BUT my experience overall was great, I loved it.

Can only imagine how much more fun it would be without these stupid issues.

Gives me the advantage over high ping bastards I used to play with this guy from Pakistan man would he lag so everytime I got him he thought I was a good player. He hasn't been online for over a year wonder what happened to him.

You have that reversed. People with high ping will have a distinct advantage over those with low ping. Add in lag compensation and no one is going to have a good time.

I know logically this should be the case if they’re running the servers at 10hz, but in practice the beta played great for me. I saw none of that. In fact the BFV beta was much worse than the BO4 beta in that regard.
 
Black Ops 4 was a lot of fun. I don't say that lightly. It has enough freedom that you can perform tactics unlike other games. I'm not that great of a player but I was able to out smart many guys by just using simple flanking techniques, diversions / baiting, smoke etc. lot of fun. Def going to buy it.

Also, looks amazing at 4K on a 49" screen. I felt like I had an advantage for sure with all those additional pixels and larger format screen. Clearly see well off into the distance.

I'm gonna try and emulate Shroud and DrDisRespect to up my game. Been taking pointers recently from the videos.

Co-op play is great.
 
If the battle royale craze ends up making engines handle netcode better, then maybe it's worth it.

Just... barely... worth it.
 
They were only testing during beta. The beta started with 80 players, and grew to 100 by the end. Can't tell me Treyarch was not monitoring every bit of data on those servers while the beta was taking place. They did an excellent job of communicating and patching during the beta. I can only assume they are making adjustments to bring server tick rate up before launch.

Otherwise the game ran silk smooth for me. I did not notice any issues with netcode, desync or lag during the beta. It was more "E-Sports Ready" during the beta than PUBG will ever be.

My only complaint is the need for proximity looting and a way to move weapons around in your inventory. Having to drop your weapons and pick them back up to switch spots is annoying.
