I want a game called "open source dance party" which would be kinda' like Garry's mod.
~ musicians & game companies have to give up any attempt to collect $$$ and just enjoy the marketing.

Basically, I want to choose from a variety of music (youtube playlists) and any game world + the objects / buildings / environments & a variety game characters to place on the dance floor.

My first choice would be to have every version of Lara Croft dancing w/ a T-rex & giant spiders to some Run DMC on some temple locations from the games.

2nd would be Witcher 3's Geralt dancing with Triss, Ciri, Yenn, etc. + a griffin & Roach might be dancing in the background - along with any mix of characters & creatures at the palace in Toussaint...

What do you want?

I want MTV's Amp remastered and put on a VR headset.

It should come packaged with at least a 10 strip of late 90's blotter.

...a 10 strip of late 90's blotter.

YEAH... every game should come with a 10 strip for $60 !!!!!

BTW...

I'd also LOVE to see Ghost Recon Wildlands re-created in the following genres:
  • Western style - like Red Dead / Gun / Call of Juarez
  • Sci-fi style - on another planet with aliens!!!
  • Skyrim style / medieval fantasy w/ Dragons!!!
  • Dukes of Hazzard / Deliverance style
Now - please enjoy 14 minutes of fun!!!

I'd like to see a modern 3D Fallout made in the original game style. I had a dream about how that would look like, I just need to get to making it :cautious:.

Like this?

Fallout-4-Isometric.jpg.optimal.jpg

(Don't get your hopes up. It's only a render someone did.)

You know... I am a simple guy... I want another Mass Effect game. I really don't want Bioware/EA to give up on the franchise b/c of Andromeda. I really liked Andromeda and I really want more Mass Effect.

Also, if I could add one more in here... we have had a Resident Evil remake, Resident Evil 2 Remake is being made, and so I am hoping that Capcom over time goes back and remakes their original games. I say this specifically because I want a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake which is my favorite RE and one of my favorite games of all time and the game i've replayed the most.

a game I've wanted to see since the 80s (when I was maybe 6 or 7 years old) is an open world virtual reality, walking around neighborhoods into people's homes, killing them and carving the flesh/bones/guts from their body in an accurate free-form physics-based manner... no cops or anything like that, I just thought it'd be interesting from an anatomy and game-engine aspect, probably using voxels to simulate the innards (also my idea from back then, not sure if I learned about it before that), but also the freedom to kill anyone with no consequence would be liberating... I wasn't a violent child or anything... but my brother was into dissecting dead pig fetuses at the time (which my parents bought him) and I kinda wanted to do the same with people but not get my hands or sanity dirty

There are quite a bunch, off the top off my head,

a fallout and elder scrolls game with an awesome story and made with an even more awesome engine
a new duke nukem game so we can pretend dnf never existed
remake in 3D of rock 'n roll racing
Swtor remake with better stories, less planet hopping and wildstar like graphics and humor .

Rock n roll racing rocked!

Games that I want:
Another SINGLE PLAYER Fallout game
Another single player Elder Scrolls game
DiRT Rally 2
GTA VI
UT 2018
Sniper Elite 5
Sniper Ghost Warrior 4
Flight Simulator 2018
X Wing vs TIE Fighter remake
Star Wars: Jedi Knight
Star Wars: KoTOR

Games that I DO NOT WANT:
Fallout online (Mr T will totally pity this game, it's a FOO)
Elder Scrolls Online
Destiny 2
Star Wars: Battlefront 2
GTA Online
ANYTHING with microtransactions
ANYTHING with loot boxes, loot crates, packs, or anything like that
ANYTHING where 'whales' are the main audience

That's about it...

Games I want:
-X-Wing vs Tie Fighter remake
-Star Wars KOTOR remake
-Crimson Skies remake or something similar. Arcade like flight sim with old timey planes, an upbeat goofy story that steers away from the drearyness of the World Wars, and NO LOCK ON missiles.
-A proper sequel to Warcraft 3.
-A completely unfucked sequel to the Command and Conquer and Red Alert series
-A proper sequel to the Mechwarrior series. There is supposedly one already in development.
-Battlefield 2143, but with the return of decent server control and mods...ala ProCon with BF3 and BF4.
-Another Aliens vs Predator game with a longer and better singleplayer, and multiplayer styled after the insanity that was AVP2 from 2001.

Things I want to see happen in next couple years:
-EA and it's current CEO get fucked royally by Disney removing their Star Wars License then double fisted when investors lose faith and their stock price falls
-Loot Boxes with random items that can be purchased declared a form of gambling and thus requires regulating. This will effectively kill any motivation a publisher has to implement it ever again.
-DICE to buy their way out from under EA like Bungie did with Microsoft before the Battlefield series fully converts into the dumbed down console bullshit that is COD (it's already 90% there). This or DICE gets bought by a better publisher that brings things back to BF2 and BF2142 style gameplay.
-Call of Duty series ends unceremoniously. Oh how I miss the good old days of COD 2 and COD 4. COD just needs to die already.
-Better Anti-Cheat systems. UbiSoft's BattlEye has done a spectacular job, but it isn't perfect. We need more software like it. On that note, I would love several of these software hack companies be sued into oblivion to set an example...but that will never happen.

Bitter much?

I'd settle for a proper Warcraft III Remaster.

Yep, and so is a large chunk of the PC gaming community who remember how good multiplayer FPS games used to be as well as all the other amazing developers and game series that EA took a massive shit on.

Keep in mind, I don't necessarily want EA to go under if it can be helped. I just want them to be hit hard enough the current CEO is ousted and they change their ways.

New reason to hate/loathe/despise EA: a 2016 Indie pitch for a modern X-Wing game that EA passed on.

Kotaku write up.

While it looks good at first sight, it seems more like rebel assault than x-wing. No, it feels exactly like rebel assault, except for the free movement vs. being on rails. This would get boring really quick without proper instruments, targeting, and energy management.

What I'd like to see:

  1. A proper Command & Conquer or Red Alert reboot, returning to the roots. Basically I want Generals remade with current graphics but set in the original or alternate universe.

  2. An open world street racing game with proper physics, ala TDU or MBWR.

  3. Dark Forces type game, without jedi shenanigans just a plain old mercenary shooter RPG.

  4. every RPG* to have a fully featured character generator, surpassing or at least on the level of APB

  5. soft body physics in every game where you can drive vehicles. ROR is over 10 years old and open source, it's time to catch up.

  6. improvements in character animation, where animations aren't rigging based, but physics based

  7. keyboard + mouse support in console games
*I don't just mean games that are RPG by genre, I mean every game where you roleplay as a character.

What I don't want to see:

  1. Games that can't be played offline

  2. Games without career / story mode

  3. forced failure in games

  4. microtransactions

  5. lootboxes

  6. games that are created solely by greed and not passion

  7. Please no MMOs, or any other game where I have to share the game world with idiots.

I'm not giving them my dollars, that's for sure.

Don't complain when you pay.

Nope, I'm good with it as is.

Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter

Also, I cannot believe I failed to include Interstate '76 in my original post. Take that concept and modernize it? Yes, please.
Yes I know exactly what XVT is:
designed almost exclusively for multiplayer and/or personal practice only, lacking a storyline.

That is literally what I don't want from games. It's X-Wing Collectors series (original X-wing and Tie Fighter remade with the XvT engine) or X-Wing Alliance all the way for me.

I want a new unique AAA game like what Death Stranding looks like, but for PC. Personally getting tired of the same series releasing over and over again. I think Cyberpunk 2077 could be a unique experience, so definitely looking forward to that.

Commander Keen needs to come back, in a 3D side scroller
Duke Nukem needs a new game in 3D that incorporates idea's from the first 2 side scrollers and "3D"
A Revised Hydro Thunder with modern graphics would be cool.. That's one game that If I had room I'd buy the arcade cabinet

How about we take the vs. out of there and replace it with a comma?
How about we never use commas to denote two seperate things... drives me crazy, imagine if they called it "Bill, Ted's Excellant Adventure"... ugh, and that's what they are doing today... why such a stupid/confusing thing has become normal is beyond me... what are we trying to save e-ink or something?

At this point I suppose my wants aren't that complicated. I mainly want some compilation games where the older games have modern graphics, font scaling, etc.

GTA Collection, Ninja Gaiden Collection, Dark Souls Collection, Baldur's Gate Collection (with a 3D engine), Marvel Ultimate Alliance Collection, Need for Speed Collection, Witcher Collection.

There are a lot of classic games and series' out there that are tough to go back to because they're ugly or technologically dated.

I'm willing to concede some complexity for pew-pewing in a TIE Interceptor or disabling an Interdictor with a B-Wing.

I'm not going to echo that "single player games are dead"; but scripted single-player missions killed the genre in the first place. The original X-Wing and TIE Fighter were probably the most difficult PC games created in their time. And to be frank, I have a few sour memories of TIE's escort missions- some of which I had to attempt more than a dozen times. If scripted events are the only way to ramp difficulty- that's dog's not gonna hunt.

I'd prefer some co-op PVE. Take six guys and go against that wall of TIE fighters in ROTJ.

A new Wing Commander/Starlancer/Freelancer game (that actually gets released in a reasonable amount of time).

I would rather them resurrect Independence War or Freespace. Chris Roberts IP is dead to me.

No One Lives Forever franchise reboot, anyone?

So much missed opportunity, and the Cate Archer IP is stuck in limbo between publishers. They can't even resell the first two games.

Interstate 76 Reboot
Privateer Remake/Reboot (Star Citizen might handle this if it ever releases)

It didn't 'became' normal. Comma is and was the proper separator of items in a list. How is that confusing?

That is what's wrong with the entertainment industry. People gobble up garbage just because it has SW (or any famous franchise) written on it. And you're boldly proclaiming the same attitude by, saying no matter how junk the game is, if it has a flyable B-Wing it doesn't matter? That's bullshit. Make a good game, then we can talk about what universe it's set in. Because pewpewing is just pewpewing no matter how much royalty is paid after it.

You must have scripted events in a game, otherwise how does the story progresses? You just want a big sandbox where everything is set in motion at the beginning and then nothing unexpected happens ever?

Yeah, like nolf doesn't have scripted events? You can't have interactive games without scripted events. The problem is not scripts, the problem is lazy scripts that are badly executed. BTW I don't remember that escorts missions were scripted in Tie Fighter. Were they difficult? Certainly yes. But not that difficult if 12 year old me was able to finish all the campaigns. And I know I was shit at games back then, as many games that seemed impossibly hard back then turned out to be pretty easy when I revisited them as an adult.

for three or more items sure, and you'd normally use an "and" before the last one... but two nouns, really?

Can I speak to your dad, mom?

apparently I want a game that teaches grammar :)

I just want Borderlands 3 not to suck
Also want Pantheon Lords of the Fallen

You could develop your own game but you need lots of money then you have the worst community on the internet the Steam Community to help promote the game.

Interstate '76 remake
New Vampire the Masquerade game similar to Bloodlines, but modernized and with melee combat like Mount and Blade
A new MMORPG that cares about open world pvp and pve equally and is balanced the same for both
A new Duke Nukem would definitely be nice too
