Dropped The Division and went back to Black Desert Online. Still playing WoT too of course. Nothing new out I really want to try.

Horizon Zero Dawn all weekend (took Monday off due to Birthday as well)! Woo!

Hanging out with Nioh. It is rapidly becoming my favorite Japanese sword fighting game. I have played a lot of great ones, Tenchu, Onimusha, Ninja Gaiden, Souls, Bloodborne. Hard to say it is hands down my absolute favorite, but it is right there with the best. Really fun!

Playing Warhammer 40k: Space Wolf. I liked this game on Android, Now it's Early Access on Steam. Really loving it and the game has great potential.

Burnt out on over watch so decided to play sum single player fps..chose wolfenstein new order. Great game so far more than half way through! Are there any other good single player like this?

That's a bit of a loaded question!

Solid FPS games from the past year(s - if you include 2015 and 2016) include:
  • DOOM (2016)
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (if you're knee deep in Wolfenstein: The New Order, you may want more, this is a standalone prequel/"expansion")
  • Dishonored 2
  • Titanfall 2 (single player campaign)
I can't think of any other FPS single-player campaigns that had as much wide appeal.

Thanks for the heads up ghost. I actually have dishonored 1 Is that good or should I pass? I haven't enjoyed an fps as much as new order in ages...the story, gameplay, music, characters ,atmosphere are on point! I have old blood, doom and far cry 4 in my back log still and also dled masseffect 2....

About a third of my way through Mass Effect 2. Replaying the series in anticipation of next week's launch of ME: Andromeda.

Most of this weekend was spent in Ghost Recon Wildlands with a buddy. SO much fun.

Downtime from that was spent in Overwatch trying to get out of Silver... ugh. 1950SR!

Commander how is mass effect 2? I just got it on origin and wondering if it's worth playing with my huge back log lol never played any in the series

If you haven't played either, Dishonored 1 is a good place to start - there's more stealth, and missions move slower (unless you go full high chaos). Some may say the game hasn't aged well but it performs great on modern hardware. It is no Wolfenstein that's for sure, it's more like Thief was (back in the day).

DOOM is great, again, no comparison to any other FPS on the list (or any other list). Far Cry 4 was pretty okay, I think it would have been received better if it wasn't so close to Far Cry 3.

Is fc4 similar to 3 ? I enjoyed 3 and hoping 4 is close in terms of story gameplay. The only other two games I've been eyeing is Witcher 3 and mgs v...

As my name implies, I'm a HUGE fan of the Mass Effect series. Yes, there are faults, but as an overall gaming experience it's one of my all-time favorites. I'd recommend playing the first before ME2, but diving into it cold could be interesting. You won't be familiar with the history of the characters or story, of course. ME2 has a bit of "The Magnificent Seven" feel to it. You traverse the galaxy to assemble a team of experts to fight a powerful enemy. I don't want to give away anything more. It's an excellent game, well worth the time if you enjoy action/adventure types.

I do like action adv but I have so many games that it has to hook me to be worth playing

I'm playing through Mad Max now. I was warned ahead of time that it's extremely repetitive, however I can see the appeal.

The problem isn't the repetitive missions, the convoy missions and storm hunting is a blast. You can almost hear Ahab screaming in your head when you're taking them down. The problem is the reward system. Yeah you're kind of always working towards a cool goal, but there's no story weight to it -

For instance I spent a ton of time on Jeets stronghold building this awesome base and making sure everybody was taken care of, but when I completed it there was no ending. No pat on the back. Not even a "Thanks man" cinematic from Jeet. A lot of it is like that. You'll finish big complicated missions and get shat out to work on the next thing.

That's why I think sandbox games while they sell well are less meaningful and impacting over time. With FPS and RPGs its all about the story and rewards play time with..something at least.

FC4 is essentially a FC3 expansion pack. Petty much everything is the same except for some additional mechanics, snow landscapes vs ocean and different animals. The "sameness" is the weakness of the FC franchise, get burned out on the games. That includes blood dragon and Primal.
