If you need a chair reviewer I will be happy to volunteer.
Here's an idea. How about we all post pics of our current computer chair.. and the one with the chair in the worst shape gets to "review" (keep) the new chair?

To add to modi's proposed criteria, spillage and cleanup. Not saying to ruin the thing by smearing ketchup all over it, but some spot tests might be a good idea.
I might win. Mine was originally a nice chair meant for 8+ hours of use, rated for 500 pounds...but it was bonded leather which I somehow overlooked at the time of purchase. It cost me $300.Here's an idea. How about we all post pics of our current computer chair.. and the one with the chair in the worst shape gets to "review" (keep) the new chair?
You win!!!interesting. Though the amount I'm willing to spend on a chair is far less than $900.
My current chair is very similar to this:

And yes, I have the matching plastic folding table as my desk. Cost me a whopping $30.
Fair warning, those mesh bottom chairs can wear through the seat of your pants rather quickly, especially if you have a thick wallet in your back pocket.
$900 for a chair? Ok, well outside of the normal functionality, for $900 lets test the crap out of this thing ...
Some suggestions:
Test 1: Does it mark up hard wood flooring.
Test 2: Does it roll well on carpet.
Test 3: Does it transition well from a chair mat to a carpet and back (Usually front wheels on carpet, rear wheels moving into and out of sitting position)
Test 4: Does it transition well from a chair mat to hardwood (Usually front wheels on hardwood, rear wheels moving into and out of sitting position)
Test 5: If you sit forward on the seat, does it feel like its going to tip.
Test 6: If you sit fast into the seat, slamming yourself back, does it feel like it going to tip.
Test 8: In a normal seated position, if you rock side to side, how much give is there in the lower frame?
Test 9: In a normal seated position, if you rock side to side, how much noise (if any) is made?
Test 10: In a fully leaned back position, if you rock side to side, how much give is there in the lower frame?
Test 11: In a fully leaned back position, if you rock side to side, how much noise (if any) is made?
Test 12: If you go from a full back position and sit up suddenly, does the chair feel like it wants to spring away from you.
Test 13: If you go from a full back position and sit up suddenly, how much noise (if any) is made?
Test 14: When you press against the arm rests with your elbows (down and away) , how much do they deflect.
Test 15: While completely seated, and the back locked upright, twist your back side to side as if scratching it against the chair. How much give is there in the upper frame?
Test 16: While completely seated, and the back locked upright, twist your back side to side as if scratching it against the chair. How much noise (if any) is made?
Test 17: Does the chair have any grapple prone points that grab at headphone cables and the like.
Test 18: Does the chair get uncomfortably warm if you sit in it for a long session?
Test 19: Does the chair have any points that start to feel like they are digging into you during a long session?
Test 20: Why yes, I really have nothing better to do. I write test cases all day anyway. SQA 4Life

I look forward to the review! However.... How do you review a gaming chair? What are the characteristics?

I was about to volunteer to review your stuff, and I'm local, but I have too much junk in my house already.
I work from home a lot, and I have burned through many of the $100 Staples chairs that just go to hell after a year. I bought this Z-Line chair 3 years ago and it's still holding up very well. I can totally recommend it. They sell them at Fry's (which is where I saw it, then promptly ordered from Amazon for $70 savings). My major complaint is the ass padding always seems to vanish first. I'm not a big person, I don't have a big or cushy ass, so I'm instantly aware when my "executive office chair" has turned into a wooden park bench. This one is still going strong.
$118

The ergonomic chairs at work that I know cost $400 each cause me immediate discomfort and back pain. The Z-line is comfy and causes me zero back anguish.

3 years later, the piston is completely shot and the bonded leather has completely peeled off. The padding is still pretty decent though. The exterior look went from black leather to black and gray spotted fuzzball with cat scratches on the backside.
As a side note: FUCK BONDED LEATHER. If I got a chair to review, I would post my current chair as comparison. "Here's what happens to bonded leather after 3 years. You want to pay nearly a grand for this to happen?" Instant point loss in the value department of the review.
Send it to me and I'll review it. I sit at my desk and game and surf for 10-16 hours a day.
3yr review starting 3, 2, ...I had my experience with Mesh chairs never again unless it's guaranteed not to stretch after a year.
