Fallout 4

Dmac, I would be interested in seeing that chart as well. :D

I'm sorry guys. I thought I saved the page with the chart and I absolutely cannot find it now. It was a flow chart that told you when to save and when there would be a fork in the road and when each choice would branch off. I'll keep looking.

There are a handful of written lists on when to save and the order of quests, but I'd really like to find that chart.

I'm debating when and under what circumstances I should start my second playthrough. I finished the story yesterday in my first playthrough. 110 hours of gameplay. I feel like I did a fairly thorough playthrough. Post main story there are some nice dialog wrap ups and some other loose ends but best I can gauge I'm finished with anything significant. I believe I have done all companions quest that exist.

For this first playthrough I went against the Institute via the Minutemen and was able to stay friendly with everyone through the end except obviously the Institute. My male character was mostly Mr. Goody Two Shoes.

I played on Normal difficulty. That's definitely going to go up. Not completely sure I have the nerve for Survival. What's the difference between that vs "Very Hard" ? http://gaming.stackexchange.com/que...lly-does-the-difficulty-level-affect-the-game <- Is this right?

For sure I'm going to be a femme fatale. Just kind of thinking out loud here and fishing for feedback and points to consider. :)

^^ Sorry if repeat: Your female character...is she a mod? She looks good.

it does right :D ? its that same character made in the game customization menu, like two months ago? only mods are improved eye color & hair color, curie is game default curie

I have a female character and use Piper as a companion and wear the summer shorts with the nude female mod, so I got two naked bitches running and gunning mofos down.

with survival mode you are going to get at least one legendary enemy at all locations. Worthwhile IMO. Shit is harder to kill so you better have good multipliers.

For dressing companions, give them stuff and then press T for them to equip the items

Curie is not a sex object. She's a sensitive, sentient being and deserves to be treated with respect. You're a monster.

Honestly, I am about ready to slap Curie in the face. Her dialogue doesn't change after she becomes "human" and she still talks about "accessing her data banks later" or some shit...kinda doesn't make sense. Also she gets fairly obnoxious about how everything is dirty every 5 seconds.

I am pretty sure my game bugged out...I should have hit the requirements for Ballistic Weave a long time ago but I never got the option...glad I'm on PC where I can just force it with console commands I guess, but still that is pretty game-breaking since ballistic weave is so powerful.

It's not that powerful, IMO. I got it and then went back to power armor after my next major fight when I immediately got leg crippled. Maybe I'll try it again when I get some better overarmor (all the legendary pieces that have effects I want to use are pretty shitty when it comes to actual damage protection).

Did you do two of P.A.M.'s DIA/jackpot missions?

Yeah, I did everything required, it just never gave me the dialogue about it. I think I got it working using a console command.

On a separate note, does anyone else use an item renamer / better sorting mod? I downloaded one that looked cool, but it seems to only work on new items I find in the world...all of my old stuff have the same names. Sometimes they will change if I modify them in the workshop (armor/weapons only) but otherwise it's kind of lame that I have some stuff labelled "Combat Armor | Medium" and some still "Sturdy Combat Armor". Is there a way to force an update of all the names?

Using this mod currently: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/897/?

Help needed to start blind betrayal quest. I can't complete outside the wire

since I already completed the main story line.

I found this which says you can still complete this mission if you give proctor ingram the halo tape but i can't find that tape. I build the teleport with the help of the rail road and Tinker Tom doesn't have any tape. Institute is blown up.

any options? I want to get Paladin Danse to max affinity but can't until i complete these quests

you forgot to say you also need to add ammo.

guys, i found a bug. you guys know how curie always complain she doesnt have a duster? well i added a feathered duster to her inventory, no no you cant equip it with T, i tried :p, so then i went normal gaming and after a while she said "ima am here and no duster" or something like it, and she had the duster with her in her inventory :(. its not a game breaking bug but i thought it would be cool for you to know. ;)

Having the main story finished is your issue here.

Best I can imagine:

You are going to have to cheat most likely.

coc qasmoke in the console. Go in there (debug room), get the holotape you need out of a dedicated holotape box, and see if that works. Since you finished the main storyline I'm surprised some of that is even still in play.

To get out of there type coc sanctuaryext and then you can go from there. There may be other less cheating ways to do it but I'm honestly not aware of it and frankly it's likely more trouble than it's worth.

Danse has some bits that needs the institute so you are screwed.

i just realized that both spoils of war and mass fusion are 'failed' for me. that doesn't seem right? I started a new thread

like i said in that thread your screwed you need to go to a save before you messed up or start over...

I did that and am good again. I'm annoyed I had to go back but two hours later I realized it was fun to replay the same stuff :)

lol man, i run out of 10mm bullets so i equiped curie back with the gauss rifle, and then, i found a legendary deathclaw!
dude i knew i was in, i prepared myself, first thought in my mind was when i had saved the game last because possible death was coming at me, i concluded i had an aceptable save and braced myself for the fight.
deliverer, vats, all rounds on its fucking leg, for start. i started shooting, and the thing was coming at me, and then... *pblubt*! *thoom*! *plabt*! and curie fucked the legendary deathclaw up. i thought "curie! noooo!" but it was too late.
it was no fun bro, im leaving that fucking gun at my house, no more gauss rifle for curie, fuck this shit.
end of log.

Definitely have to provide ammo for the weapon given to a settler. I usually give each 200 rounds of ammo unless it is the minigun then it is 500 rounds.[/IMG]

You don't need to do that...they only need one round for Settlers. For Companions, they will eat up ammo.

so was wondering what to do with all the shitty .38 ammo I have. made an auto pipe armor piercing rifle but it sucked. Have never seen a legendary weapon in that class either. Then I realized that the intent is to descend a combat rifle to .38. Is a lot heavier but does much better damage and you get the weapon bonus. I have a .45 that staggers and of course the guardian in .308.

i use it all for bargaining chip on traders, as caps.

In spite of being over encumbered way too often, I keep a variety of weapons on me at all times. It helps pass the time on longer missions. Otherwise, a maxed out Old Faithful (2x damage on targets with full health) combined with a jacked sniper rifle and rifleman perk is tough to beat.

What kind of armor are most people sticking to? I maxed out a set of Synth gear early on and have been wearing it for a while. It's not as good as the heavier stuff, but it also lets me carry more. Should I be on the lookout for anything special? Are there even non-random armor sets anywhere?

I spent a lot of time in an Armored Courser Uniform (maxed out on the crafting bench) but mostly stayed in the Silver Shroud outfit and especially when I was able to get "upgraded."

So I just got the Courser chip and need to have it analyzed...is this the "point of no return" for choosing a side yet? I've been avoiding spoilers pretty well but can someone tell me where that point is without giving away too much?

I don't know if you have encountered all the factions. If you haven't then you're still in the clear on that.

There comes a point where you get far enough in your relations with the factions and then certain dialog and situations happens where "being everyone's friend" becomes impossible.

Has anyone gone full hate on all the factions and killed them all on sight? I'm guessing that bars you from a lot of quests but if you are just playing to kill anything that moves it may be fun.

Is anyone else bored with F4 yet? I haven't beat it and I'm bored. IDK what it is, but everything seems repetitive. Go here, kill some things, open some rooms, and grab some crappy loot.

What did you want it to do make you a sammich?

The side missions givin are rather rinse and repeat.

As well, the commonwealth settlers are extremely dumb.

One moment they know me, respect me etc... then i get a random mission to save a certain settlement from raiders and such, and then they act like they've never seen me before. Wtf?
Even in Sanctuary.

I'm almost there. I have not explored every nook and cranny yet but I have finished the main story and a bunch of the side quest. My biggest issue is that I haven't really felt challenged at all. Level 66 and nothing worries me much except poison. I rarely use power armor because I don't feel the need for it. I can be in the high level areas and come across level one raiders. Because of that I've only played about ten hours this last week.

I'm probably going to shelf the game soon. Once DLC and expansion hits I'll come back and then load up the mods. There are a few out now that double enemies and raise their levels but they work best from fresh games and I don't feel like doing that right now.

Radiant AI quests. I was sorry to see that carried over from Skyrim.

Other than that I'm pretty happy with the game. After 110 hours on my first playthrough it's break time. ;)

Have you played the previous iterations of the game, because that is exactly what this game is about?

While I enjoy the game and exploring a lot, I find the the settlement stuff is a chore. I also think that the UI for the workstation (and settlements in general) is borderline torture.
I know you don't have to deal with that stuff, but for it to be such a large part of the game, it's tedious and clumsy.
I'm at level 48 and have the perks and weapons I want, so I think I'm just going to keep the plot rolling at this point. The only real challenge I encounter are those crazy robots that use stealth boys and insta-kill tackle you.
