The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Official Thread

The first screenshots of second Witcher 3 expansion, Blood and Wine, have been released...they show a grand city and the palace of Beauclair basking in the sun, as well as a vineyard in the new Toussaint region, which is famed for its wine

Blood and Wine is due in the first half of 2016, and will offer an adventure lasting 20 hours...it takes place in a large new area that is visually unlike anything in the game so far...

can't wait

Very nice. Wasn't surprised with finding out this game won the game of 2015 award, good on CDPR. Will be sad once I complete BoW expansion. No more Witcher games after that. :(

Where did you see that? I read an interview about Cyberpunk, and they stated they weren't sure about what the future would hold for Geralt. So I'm betting they they focus on Cyberpunk for a few years, then back to The Witcher. I could see Geralt moving into a mentor/trainer role for some new group of young Witchers.

They said that Geralt's adventure is over with witcher 3..so chances are they will work on another witcher game with new main character after cyperbunk

cyberpunk has been "confirmed" for end of next year. that would be really cool. hope its not bogus

^where did you see CP getting confirmed for next year?

If they stay true to the books... he won't. The witcher career dies with Geralt at the end.

If they stay true to the books, there would be no games. Geralt dies before TW1.

As soon as they offer a preorder for Cyberpunk, I'll be ordering the collectors edition or whatever is most expensive. They've earned my trust, and they'll get my money.

If they can offer a FPS in a modern version of their gameworld, that would be the coolest thing ever.

Does anyone know at what point Yennefer will no longer sleep with you?

This is the second time I'm playing through and I think I blew my chances, yet again!
Doh this woman is irritating me.

So I didn't show up and help her when she wanted it, I was busy! Jesus! Hold a grudge much?

Did you sleep with the other? At some point they give you romance related quest . you sould only complete one of them.

This.....these guys are the ONLY company I would pre-order from today. W3 is one of the best games I have ever played.....PC gaming needs more devs/games like this.

Same here. They have earned it.

Probably same here, even though the Witcher games haven't really grabbed me for some reason (TW3 is a great game but for some reason it just isn't pulling me away from other games like MGSV and Fallout 4...will finish it someday, lol). Cyberpunk is one of my favorite genres, though, so I'm all in for that one.

After spending some time with Fallout 4 and returning to Witcher 3, I have a new found appreciation for the graphics they did in this game. I'm glad they are willing to bring this level of graphics while other devs are still reluctant to do so today. I hope Cyberpunk will even be more impressive.

ps: This game makes me want to upgrade to a 980Ti, but I can't justify it with Pascal coming next year.

Well to me and since I've read the books and played the games, they are both non-canon but they relate very close to each other one way or another (Witcher 3 mainly). If any future Witcher titles not based on Geralt as the protagonist again then it just isn't the same.

Also I call BS on CP being slated for late 2016 release, based on the discussion over on CDPR forums from dev's and insiders whatnot, it's more of an early 2017 release (which is what they originally aimed for), then late 2016. I just don't want them to rush out a half arsed port because fans want it released as soon as possible.

yea i don't see Cyberpunk happening in 2016
they got to finish Blood and Wine first

If it's the one posted on the previous page and on Nexus, I'm running it and currently no fps drops that I have noticed.

I started up Witcher 3 last night and spent 45 minutes skipping dialogue. The combat actually seemed fun and I would like to explore the world but it hasn't opened up yet.

Am I going to be skipping lots of dialogue the whole game or is there a lot of combat and exploration ahead for me?

As said above.
A major part of this game are the story and characters.
Your decisions and what you say are based on how you feel about the characters and their situations.

This isn't the game for you.

Thanks, I think you guys may be right. I feared that may be the case but for $20 on Black Friday I figured I'd give it a shot. I'll give it a couple more hours tho

It might be an idea to start again putting some time into reading the dialogue.

I honestly don't understand why you would do this. Can you care to explain? I'm not trying to bash you, just trying to understand why skipping dialogue is actually a thing.

Wow. Just wow. Definitely not for you. Sounds like Just Cause 3 is more your play style. Just running around blowing shit up mindlessly.

I accidentally skipped a dialogue once. I immediately exited and started at my last save. I lost 20 minutes of progress, but I can't imagine purposely skipping dialogue in a masterpiece like this.

I have a limited time to game so like to experience actual game play. I generally choose to play games with my limited free time rather than watch TV or movies. I don't mind 5-10 minutes of cinematic/dialogue prior to game play but so far I've got 45 minutes in the Witcher and the talking just goes on and on....the two brief moments of combat were tons of fun

That's why I'm kind of wondering if the world opens up to run quests and experience lots of combat or if the talking continues for the rest of the game.

You're right it seems a big appeal of this game is for the dialogue/story and if I'm skipping that, maybe I shouldn't even bother with this title. Other games that I'm currently enjoying are Rocket League, Mad Max, and Sunset Overdrive.

If any game will twist your arm that it can be worthwhile, this is it, an absolute epic.
But it would have benefited you to read peoples experiences first because I am currently at over 16 days of reported play time, there are quite a few quests I havent come across and I still havent finished the main game quests!

I had the same problem as you with the game. I couldn't get into the game at all the first couple months after release cause I could never play for more than an hour or two at a time due to real life constraints. Therefore, I just kinda zoned out from all the dialogue and tried to rush through parts and it wasn't fun at all. It wasn't until I had a 5-day period where I didn't have to work and my wife was out of town that I actually got to immerse myself for the first time and the game really is a masterpiece. However, I only managed to make it to Skellige before real life took over again and I never finished the game. I'm trying to pick it up again but kinda running into the same problem.

Objectively, I know The Witcher 3 is by far the better product compared to MGS V and Fallout 4 but the latter two games were the only ones I managed to finish despite the vastly inferior story and game world. Hopefully I'll be able to take a real crack at the Witcher 3 again by the end of the year.

Witcher 3 is The Godfather and Fallout 4 is Die Hard.

I fast forwarded through a lot of the dialog. I read it all mind you, but to wait for every character to finish speaking can take ages. And a lot of the dialog just isn't terribly interesting. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of good stuff in there. But there's also a lot of boring stuff. I can understand skipping through some of it.

That's somewhat understandable. You know what's going on. You know the story. The way he's talking he just fast forwards through everything without reading just so he can fight something.

Yeah exactly, I'm not even reading it. I was fast forwarding for 45 minutes last night from the start of the game to the tavern. There were only 2 short fighting sequences. How long would that have taken me had I listened to all of the dialog?

Am I missing much story? He's traveling to this seedy town to look for some woman....

I'm starting to think maybe you are trolling us. I could see some kid or a console puke that doesn't know better. But I find it hard to believe a member of these forums fast forwards through all the dialogue on the best RPG ever made and openly admits it. And then keeps reinforcing the fact with comments like this.

Surely some of you other guys are starting to think he's trolling?

The witcher 3 has some 2500 pages of dialogue content. if you just want to kill shit... well, you can do that too, but you are missing a lot of what makes the game great. You should also know the original witcher books... were mainly centered around Ciri. That "some woman". But it is your game. play it however you like.
