The Elder Scrolls Online

Ahh, that's why you didn't respond to my PM about the Beta. I was going to give you my stress test code. *shrug*

Ah, never saw the PM :), that was nice of you.

There are long (60min+) gameplay leaks floating around from recent closed betas, those I would say are fair enough to form an opinion from. The ones I saw were on youtube but were pulled, I'm sure they still exist *somewhere*

Watching people who have no idea what they're doing running around a lowbie area in any MMO tends to be pretty boring :). Just saying.

ITS GOING TO BE AWE INSPIRING, DAMNIT!

LOL, well, hopefully so. :p

You don't watch it for the aesthetics, you watch it to see the mechanics, the quest layouts, the production values. Everything I've seen is "typical MMO" + slightly more exciting combat mechanics.

It might be a great game, a great mmo; but its not doing anything revolutionary. I'm more excited for where EQNext is going honestly, Elder Scrolls would be better left as a Solo or Co-Op experience.

Really, a great, deep rpg experience with 2-4 players is what people really want, deep down. They don't have 10, 20, 40 "hardcore" friends to organize, but they do have more than one. If I could jump in and out of a GOOD, exciting experience with a few people, without the need for a login server, a bunch of nitwits, etc; I'd be sold. MMO's have their place and Elder Scrolls has its place. DnD Online was close, but it was a bit too heavy on the DnD rules (and a conflict in my personal aesthetic tastes) for me. To each his own.

Let me clarify. Lowbie toons being played against basically tutorial mobs by people brand new to a game with not even having basics available yet, is not a good way to judge whether a games mechanics are good or what they are even. These leaks are akin to watching someone learn how to reload a rifle in battlefield and sprint. Not much h of anything.

Cyrodiil would fit right up that alley, as would adventure zones. But the nda will lift eventually. I'm anxious for that day.

Beta test invites went out.

Beta test will run from Friday, November 22nd at 6:00pm EST till Sunday, November 24th at 11:59pm EST.

LOL!! I don't believe in Karma, but holy shit.

I just got one..... the one weekend I'll be out of town with my gf.

I can't believe I'm seriously tempted to cancel the trip.

Edit - I see it ends Sunday at 11:59, so I guess I can still go and play for at least a few hours on Sunday.

I'm really curious if this will feel like an Elder Scrolls game or an MMO.

Hopefully this isn't their excuse to not include co-op in the next TES game.

Meh, I'll give it a shot.

of course I get a beta invite the week I have my GTX680 out for fucking rma. Oh well maybe a 550ti can run it, lol.../cries.

i got a key but not overly excited about the game. will be a waste of a weekend i guess

There's so much indifference in this thread for people who, of their own choice, signed up to gain access.

I am looking forward to testing the game for them and for seeing the direction it will be going in, this time, for a whole weekend; which is welcome!

@Liqq,

The 550ti will run it fine.

i got a invite too, i wasn't that excited to play that game becasue lately new mmo's just don't do it for me. But hopefully this can be fun! I hope it encourages a lot of group play early.

I got a key as well!

This will definitely determine if I want to pay a monthly fee for a TES game sprinkled with MP or just load up Skyrim (etc) to get that TES RPG fix. I played GW2 quite a lot, but it just lost my interest after 2 level 80's. MMO's to me just haven't had that element to keep me hooked. If TESO turns out a dud, at least we have EQN to look forward to.

lol, Anderson Silva talk?

I'm very excited for this game. No other game has my interest more than this, so if it sucks, I quit gaming.

That's a pretty fucked up, and bold statement. From what I've seen of it, it doesn't look like anything amazing at all, but we'll see.

My two, honest cents, it'll probably be like Neverwinter Online, where it'll be exciting for the first month or two, then everyone will forget about that shit fast. Just seems to be a trend these days sadly...heh.

Where's the trip to? Can't be worth canceling it to play a beta.

Sedona. Taking my gf up there for our 4 year anniversary, lol.

I was just talking "hard". I wasn't going to cancel it.

Got married in Sedona. I know one thing and that is girls dont want to be disappointed especially for a video game.

Believe it or not, my gf wouldn't care as much as you would think. I wouldn't do something like that to her, though.

But the thought did cross my mind :D

Where did you guys get your code?

I got the email, went to the page to try to sign in to download the client, said my account didn't exist, so I made an account under the email address the email was sent to, and now it wants me to redeem a code but I don't have one. So confused.

You bastard. Jk.

Let me know how the beta is though when you get back Sunday. I'm just curious.

I don't recall 100%, but on the last stress test beta, your account didn't work until the start time of the beta. Also, when it ended, it just said your account didn't exist or something. I didn't get a code in my email either, but I did play in the last beta stress event.

That sucks. So, a couple hours or however long of the beta is everyone downloading the client? Lame.

I downloaded the client and it's installed on my machine now. You should have got the activate key in your email, then you add it as if you were adding a game to your account.

I found it after searching my email. Forgot I had been invited early September but was unable to attend the beta.

Also, if anyone has an code they won't be using; my friend would greatly appreciate it. :)

I got my key as part of the stress test they ran. I too had to hunt the key down, it wasn't included with this current beta notification.

Anyone who got the email yesterday with no code, search your inbox. Mine was originally sent out Sept. 4th.

Such a short window. I wonder if this is just first round?

The first beta stress tests were like four hours only or some crazy short amount. A whole weekend with the game will be nice, and I'm going off call, and its a payday weekend, so it should be fun...

i just got into the beta as well got the email yesterday. its downloaded and patch of course it comes on xbox one launch weekend so going to be interesting trying to balance time.

Got an invite...Might give it a go. I got invited in the past but they were for like, an hour of gameplay or some stupid nonsense.

Got an invite, patiently waiting for the Friday server unlock.....

If you received a welcome back email then you received an invite for one of the earlier stress tests. The access code is in that prior email.
