Star Citizen - media blowout, Chris Robert's new game

And they still have the t-shirts for sale if you voted in the poll a couple of months ago.
They are redoing cards and allowing people to buy t-shirts for those who wanted more.

If that means I can also get a metal card and another t-shirt (I hate how my cat put a small hole in the chest of my one T-shirt the first day I wore it, but not too bad) that would be amazing. My current green citizen card has a defective number (not all there).
 
Wait, that Weekend warrior side arm is for the character and not for the ship? Like you carry it on your physical character?

Email support and see if you can still get in. The poll was done I think late June or July and they started contacting people as early as the first week of August(concierge users) for what they wanted as replacement/upgrade. Cards and t-shirts already started shipping out I believe.

So there will be out of ship combat? A complete out of ship experience? I am sorry, as you know I am used to EVE and in that game your ship is basically your pants, you are always wearing it and other people know you by your portrait that shows up in chat only.

Also I wen through the website and could not find this information. Are there any online modules? If there are what can be done in them? What are the differences between the hangar types? Maybe I suck at browsing websites but robertspaceindustries website does not have this information.

No, why would you? You paid for that already as part of your pledge, the card is yours to keep. They are giving us a completely new card (hence the need for a new production run) and you can request it to be upgraded in rank to reflect the rank you have now if you pledged more money to the game.

I've pledged more money but only one original backing (Bounty Hunter physical) package. I did put money into upgrades ships (one of them was to upgrade my friend to the 325a as well) and a t-shirt.

Yes there will be rather extensive out of cockpit combat via boarding and even ground combat.

So far there is only the hangar module in which you can walk around and view your ship(s). The different hangars are based on your ship size/pledge and at this point are just aesthetics. Most people actually like the business class over the deluxe even though the deluxe comes with the more expensive ships.

Yes, there is ships (which is a MAJORITY of your time) and there are planets you can visit and walk, yes, walk, with your own 2 feet with ur sidearm pistol, etc etc.

There will be lawless planets you can visit and have battles with other people in fierce FPS mode.

There is currently only module at this time, Hangar, this allows you to see your ship that you have at the moment, there are 3 hangers, budget, business and deluxe, deluxe is huge and has a ton of different bays for your ships and is multi-level. Budget is a single ship hanger that is very very basic, business is sleek, has a 2 ship hanger and a upper level that, at the moment, houses nothing.....

In a month or two we should be getting the dogfighting module which will allow us to do PVP or PVB (Bots) which should be fun.

Remember when I told you I couldn't possibly hope to do the game justice by trying to describe it all in a PM? :p
There will be FPS combat, ship boarding will be a big part of the game and we recently broke through a stretch goal that added planetary FPS combat in lawless planets as well.

If your pledge rank didn't go up you can still get a replacement. Just talk to them dude, they will help you out. If you run into a wall let me know and I'll ask concierge on your behalf to help you out.
 
hmm i want a citizen card but i want to wait until i am at the 500$ tier lol 35$ away. so im not stuck with Rear Admiral on a card.

no im not an OB but i still want one, i wasnt going to bother sending in a ticket to ask until i was past my 500$ goal to see if they would put my name in if they ever did another run.
 
So anxious to see my super hornet when I get home... hopefully Lorien has time to send it soon :D

...i want a black hornet too though.. they look so awesome from above

From what I hear, u can get the parts to get it nice and ghost like black, which is EXACTLY what I plan on doing.

I am getting the super hornet myself, followed by all the parts to make it a ghost! :)
 
i actually like the white on the super hornet looks nice in the business hangar

Yeah I know. I'm fighting the urge to buy a ghost because I know I'll be able to do it. I just want a black skin now :/ haha

The current one is sweet though, it really looks like a current aircraft style.
 
well while you all plan to go stealthy im going to fly next to you with an SWACS on full active mode, to be a giant blip on the enemy radar and pull them to you.

That is kind of the idea... We have a few running stealthily and then they see your big blip and figure you're an easy target.. until they realize we're hiding behind an Idris/asteroids and pop out and its too late...

And while everyone engages, I will be in my ghost edition super hornet, fly from below, and blast coming through, than have my son come by with his LN, and pick up all the debris for sales! :)
 
no buzzkill but it looks like I will be done with my masters degree before full game is released :)

Started working on them in the order I received them, I had a bunch of guys from reddit also contacting me. Don't wear out that refresh email button :p
 
so many promises to this game (Just read the 26M stretch goal).. is anyone worried about this game becoming super overly watered down?

I am not too worried about it being watered down. More worried about it becoming overly complicated with the different positions to fill on the larger ships. Do you really want to be standing at a panel watching the radar on someone else's ship for 2 hours? I am just hoping that the alternate roles created in larger ships keep people engaged and it doesn't become all about hiring AI
 
I for one am excited regarding these new changes, at 24 and 26 million - I love the idea of having real "duty stations" where you have a job to do besides manning a turret or acting as a pilot/co-pilot. I hope they make the roles in depth enough that it is worthwhile to get humans to undertake them whenever possible - AI or NPC not doing as good a job or costing more etc... These are the kind of immersion things I've dreamed for years, and with them surpassing even their widest stretch goal they can implement these features that have been passed over for years due to rush-to-market corporate greed.
 
well started by payment plans for the super hornet. Purchased the superhornet upgrade and a $35 aurora LN. $75 more dolllars and I can melt for the $110 hornet pledge and buy it :p
 
Oh yeah they extended the availability of the Super Hornet for one extra week so until November 4th.
