EVGA Overtake

Magically, going socket by socket with 6 CPU's, and 16 sticks of RAM, doing all the possible permutations, I got it running. Over a dozen combos, and Voila!!! :D

I used this board for a lot of testing, so the sockets are probably getting weak.

Good news, I have 7 BigAdv machines folding at once.
Bad news, 3 of them are running SMP jobs.

The party ends when wifey sees the power bill.:eek: I'll retire them based on output, and keep the faster stuff running. I have to put them on 3 different circuits.
 
Time travel has been perfected! EVGA has successful went back in time. They are nowhere to be found!

I already have, however, here in MN in December telling her the power bill was almost $200 due to the central air was very unbelievable for some reason.:cool:

So, I told her it was due to the plasma tv.
 
They have finally dropped of the overtake radar again, due in part to a monster 9m points dump in one update

Next week the CC will be over.
They will lose some folders and some will be back here from folding for another team.
But you are right, they will pop up again.
 
We now have a new milestone to beat. Last month EVGA broke 1,163,142,903 points. Our best is 1,090,615,122.
 
^^ Looks like we will come close to 1B pernts today, with 5 days left in the month. :D
I say they will hold this "record" of theirs for less than 30 days.

This is truely the [H]ard way of doing things. ;)
 
Was our 51M point total for yesterday a new record? It is for us (at least in terms of "normal" days), and I don't think EVGA got quite that high.
 
Good thing the weather has been cooler. I'm running at full speed (minus two rigs that are dead atm)
 
I was on the EVGA forums and noted that they are using the borg and calling it the "4p mafia". I also see a lot of "when we get them" posts over there.

I honestly have zero ill-will towards EVGA and their crew. I neither love nor hate them, like nor dislike them. I would have no issue meeting up with any of them for drinks or any issue giving them information to get their gear running better. Granted, I hate to lose and am not too keen to strengthen the competition, however, with folding the only losers that truly exist are the ones that succumb to the diseases which we fold towards cures. Separate teams or not, I've always helped those that have approached me weather on forums, irc, pm, email, etc.

I found the "borg" avatar rather prophetic in the fact that, during the full series of any Star Trek series, the borg have always fallen. Also, the fact that one would represent themselves as a negative force such as the borg. The borg are basically a cancer, consuming and killing everything in their path and becoming one. Sign me up, welcome aboard, put your mind in the box, and hopelessly follow and do as one says...

However on the topic of being prophetic, the [H] has basically become the United Federation of Planets in the sense that we are, overall, much more diplomatic and liberal. We do not try to consume or brainwash others. One could also make an argument that we as a whole, are always seeking out new methods, hardware, technology etc. (Seeking new life?). Further, the borg also collects the bulk of their technology and information from other races.(left overs?)

I guess, this is my point of view and my opinion. I am by no means speaking for either team. Red shirt out.



 
sc0tty8 you do realize there are allot of long term good folders over at evga who fold purely to fold for the good of man kind. And yes there are a few of the overzealous type there also just the same as any other team.

I really have to admire some of the evga folders that have come over to the dark side and done some folding for us as a thank you for the help statement even when they are trying to overtake us. All teams are made up of many different types of people and many different reasons to fold, I myself venture over to the evga forum on a regular basis and do help them out from time to time. I do have to say that I have seen a few negative statements towards [H] but there are very few compared to the praise being given to the [H] for there willingness to help all teams in the fight against diseases.

I do have to say that I do find some of the comments amusing from some of the overzealous folders it give me something to laugh about, anyway we are all folders and Stanford controls us all, all it takes is a minor points change by Stanford and the balance of power swings from one form of folding to another. The #1 team will be the team will be the team that adapts to it the quickest. :D

It kind of helps when you start off here referring to your self to the BORG or the SITH guys (and the dark side of the force)..LOL

trying to convert the EVGA JEDI's is another matter

as long as we take it as light banter I don't see an issue.

you guys are great so is our team....lets not lose sight of the fact we have great teams and great hearts - helping by donating our rigs to science and helping each other when we can
(it's not like Im taking a real dump on your front lawn or doing something really distasteful)

lets just have some fun and get along

if I had to judge what the the forum is by the colors (definitely not BORG)..it looks to me more KLINGON than Federation

Not only is that a record, you guys backed it up. Impressive...


EVGA's highest daily total to date is 47,904,436 PPD on March 9 2013.

However, that included two updates from the previous day. Normalizing
production over four days (6 thru 9) yields an average of 38,386,725 PPD.

EVGA's second highest was 45,256,179 PPD on April 4 2013, but this
also includes an update from the previous day. Average production over
four days (13 thru 16) was 42,159,385 PPD.

EVGA's highest daily total that is unaffected by stats issues was 43,284,181 PPD on April 16 2013.

Indeed, although this is also true of most active teams.

The reality is Evga is a relatively young folding team,
and they never had to really work hard to get the #1 spot.
Their first real test came when BA requirements changed,
and we all know how that turned out...

Even now, while they're just starting to embrace BA folding
as a team, they're really putting their hopes in a massive
escalation of GPU PPD to regain the #1 spot...

Two flaws with this.

One, you should not expect to have everything handed over on a silver platter.

Two, since they didn't adapt quickly to swings in client PPD, they don't expect [H] to either.

They're counting on [H] being passive...

I too find the musings of those with DP* amusing at times.:D

But it's also true that their attitude can prove detrimental to the team...

Klingon red is lighter...forum colors look closer to 24th century Federation Captain colors to me...;)

Yes. I actual notice 2 factions when I got there. Those who fold to fold and are happy, down to earth people, and those that are sour and antagonistic towards the [H] group. I am sure every team has 2 subtle factions, however, it is very public there of the hatred and hostility towards us.

Not only towards you guys ([H]). but also towards those who fold for [H] (permanently or temporary - except those directly from evga) :D

First thing, congrats on your back to back 50+ days. Awesome!!

I think any large team is likely to have factions. On our team I believe most of the trash talk comes from newer and possibly younger members that dismiss the big picture too easily. Just focused on the take over. Most of our folders don't post at all in the forums.

Personally I think you guys are great and I want to say thanks for all the info I've assimilated from here.:D.

Oh and some of us change our avatars more frequently than our underwear so I wouldn't read too much into that.
