The Official Guild Wars 2 thread

The trading post is amazing now that it's finally up on my server. Once they fix the bugs and add more filters it will be perfect. Now if only they would do something about the massive lag on my server...

Yea it really is nice to have the trading post. I got to lvl 50 tonight before work, and MAN that main questline is a blast. Can't wait to try some WvW.....I honestly don't even know where to start that lol

The only thing that REALLY bothers me, is the performance. With my specs in the sig....I get horrible framerate. Sometimes my GPU's will be 30-40%, then chug up to 90-100%, then back down, by just moving the camera around.....Sad....

Thats my only Gripe.....Work on the performance.

I tried to spend the night playing, and its been one problem after another.

First, it would keep crashing with a hardware failure detected warning. After three times, I put my OC back to stock (i7 w3520 at 4.2, LinX stable). Then, after a bit, my breaker blew. Got back in, played a bit more, then it would stop responding. If I alt+tab to desktop, my mouse would be the hand icon from the game.

Decided to switch my vid card from a 7770 to a GTX-460 and see if it was an AMD driver related issue. I tried two different 460s that work fine in other boards, and neither would put up a picture using DL-DVI or HDMI to an Auria 2560 monitor.

Put the 7770 back in, re-did drivers, and everything works fine, except GW2. Everytime I try to play, it loads in, and right away stops responding. Have to end the task to get a working desktop.

My GF had no problem playing all night on the mobile 2 in my sig, except for the laptop overheating at one point with the CPU at 3Ghz.

The trading post is cross server and the lvl sorting works if you go past page 1 after you tell it to sort.

It behaves differently for me on different days. Last few days I can't filter level, but can sort by level. Before that I could rarely advance pages. Before that it would return search results, but only for certain things.

Seems to be getting better though.

GoldenTiger, I have seen you post for quite awhile...I rarely disagree with you...but man...stfu about this game already. I think everybody understands you don't like it, and heck I have only played the game once since I bought it. So its not like I am all over this game. This isn't your kind of game, it's a different niche for different people.

But really? STFU already :)
I guess between thinking it was overhyped and feeling a little annoyed by fans being rude towards any dislike of the game, I got a little too into it.

Regardless, if people are enjoying a game, who am I to say they shouldn't? I'll bow out here.

The Trading Post actually works? All I get is the maintenance window. I can get to the Gems for real money screen though.

Who claims credit for the brilliant fucking idea (sarcasm in case you couldn't tell) to have PvP do gear damage in a mode where it's a giant fucking zerg? Fuck WvWvW.

Ditto, long time [H] member and would like to join the guild.

Kujo Backbreaker is the name.

i've noticed if I am standing next to the auction guy, the response times are alot better...could be just an impression thing..you guys might want to give it a shot...but yea, the entire population is accessing the broker..i've heard thats THE main problem with this thing...also, its dynamic, meaning this thing is flipping rapidly..i went to buy somthin and poof, it was gone even though i had the buy screen up...aion has the best broker i've seen in a game...just sayin

and as far as breaking equipment in wvwvvw, i totally agree...the costs are starting to add up = not fun..i can burn through a silver in repair costs every 10 minutes and i'm only lvl 45...wonder what the lvl 80's are paying..sheesh

got my first taste of boredom with the game yesterday..after playing everyday since early access...i was due

How in the world are you dying enough to burn through a silver worth of repairs every 10 minutes? I might pay that much for an entire night worth of leveling (I'm level 44 with all my gear being around level 40, so my costs should be basically the same per death). This isn't meant as a "you are terrible at the game" post, but if you are dying that often, you really are doing something wrong.

At a higher lv the costs go up, one death and equipment damage can be 80+ copper.

Doing WvsWvsW if you are zerging around the battlefield against outnumbered enemies you can easily rack up enough deaths that it can cost 3+ silver to repair your shit.

IMO I don't even get why they have equipment damage in wvswvsw, it doesn't add anything to it, it's only a reason NOT to pvp , especially if you are hurting for money.

I have probably lost about 20+ silver on equipment repair through it.

I just keep playing naked after all my gear is broken, as otherwise I'd rather just not PvP if I have to repair. I can still toss a few ground spells and get away on my Necromancer with broken gear. So if you see a naked Necro running around that's me. :)

I realize that, but he said he was basically the same level as I am. Our repair costs should be nearly the same. I didn't think about WvW though, so I suppose you could go through money pretty quickly in that situation. I haven't done much WvW myself because I find that the maps are too damn big. If you die, you end up running for 10 minutes just to get back to where you were. They really should add more waypoints to those maps. Otherwise they need to start considering adding mounts to the game or something.

Equipment repairs are never 80 silver. The most I've paid at level 80 in full exotics is 3-4 silver with everything orange on the durability screen.

Damn, gave it a fair chance but just isn't for me i guess. Sucks because i pre-ordered and bought the collectors edition even. Was a huge GW1 fan but GW2 just isn't my cup of tea. I find it uninspiring and boring and i notice i run around rather unmotivated in the game with no real aim.

I played it and still have been able to login just as long as you, effectively owning it. I am going to be unable to login as of the end of tonight though. I got into my mid 40s before judging how awful it was, and wish I had my time back. Thankfully I hedged my bets by canceling the preorder and just playing off the beta key in the meantime. As I said, by your logic NO ONE can judge gw2 which is absurd. Ps, you do realize tsw has no levels right?

Just because someone buys and returns something cause it sucked doesn't mean they can't review it.

you've made your point. you're going to get in trouble around here if you keep replying to this thread. you cant keep blasting hate for a game you dont play before the wrong person notices.

Even with a lot of repair bills, I find I actually make so much money in WvW I barely even notice. Especially when my guild or server has some coordination going on and we can get stuff done. It's been pretty nice.

I seem to have the worst sense of directions in games. I always get lost in every city. I just find the layouts to be confusing.

I tried to go to the beginning Asura zone, but I couldn't find a way out of the main city and the map offers no clues whatsoever that I can see.

In your map there should be "level" selections (bottom right) that let you view each lv of a map if it has multiple levels.

Then each level should have a marked "down/up" area (at least for the sylvari home area it does).

Password reset server down 5 - 6 days and counting. W..T...F... horrible support. I guess I'll try borderlands2 and stick to Rift for my rpg time. I've never had any web site/merchant/game password reset take so long to resolve. I change some different passwords via web site + email systems once in awhile if I don't have passwords handy when I'm not at my main pc (i.e. I'm on the road with my laptop). If this is any indication of how well a free-to-play support system's quality is, it is a huge turnoff to put it mildly.
.
I did have some fun playing in two of the stress tests, but the game interface and character movement has a somewhat clunky, console-ish feel to it. The characters don't have any "weight" to them and their walk cycles and movement seems a little "floaty" (like many console adventure games). I was also looking forward to necromancer but was very disapointed in the character and the retarded minions.

Anyway knock yourselves out if you like the game. I've been locked out for going on a week so F*** it and their bad support. If I had bought directly from arena.net I'd consider petitioning for a refund, but at the rate of their support that would probably be sometime in 2013.

And yet you continue to post replies of your reply...

We get it. Please move on.

Come on...now I am about to not blame him for coming back to this thread, because someone always has to have the last word...just drop it. He said he was gone, and people still are posting about him.

Seems to be different for different people, which sucks more than just having it unavailable globally imo. It was down for me all last night, despite the claim in the last status update that "currently it's online and available to all players". Actually, since I just looked it up to copy & paste that quote, they've ninja edited the update to read "We expect to have the Trading Post online for all players this evening" (hurrah for wikis and their revision history).

You can tell it's their first attempt at a proper auction house, but I still don't understand why they're having so much trouble with it.

Its down right now in tarnished coast, which sucks because I just made a shit ton of jewelry to sell

The trading post is cross server. I think they've been making it available to percentages of the population. Maybe this wouldn't have been an issue if they had handled their stress tests better, rather than making them during work days or giving very little advance notice. I feel like we're basically finally in open beta right now. It sucks because the base game is a lot of fun, but ArenaNet needs to get their shit together.

pretty sure those stress tests were for other countries the ones @ 1pm etc.

Having the trading post down is such a huge blow for me. Life would be a lot easier in an MMORPG like this to be able to buy some stuff that you need.

Enjoying the hell out of my warrior :D

Just got a new set of armor, and weapons.

Borlis Pass server is a bad choice for pvp... I recommend moving before we have to pay to do so.

Anyone I know playing?
