My quick and dirty desk. I needed room for my third 24", so for about $60 in parts, this is what I came up with. It's pretty damn solid and gives me plenty of room. Not nearly as nice as many on here, but it does the job.

Here is my cable management.

I like that desk. And don't mind the monitors strait across like that. Do they look OK on that angle?

Thanks! It doesn't bother me and they look pretty good surprisingly for TN panels. Figure if I don't like it, I can spend $12 and rebuild the hutch with 10" and move them outwards a bit.

I believe that cables are required for you to have cable management. I don't see any. lol:D

Any chance you've got some quick and dirty blueprints for this? Looks amazing.

Sadly I don't. I did it entirely off the top of my head using 7 premium 2x4's, 1 hollow door, 3 8'l x 8"w x 3/4" planks and a 4'x4' sheet of birch plywood for the back. I already had the drywall screws and wood stain.

nice work, amazing cable hiding

Thanks you! After the spaghetti that was there before, I was determined to not do it again with this setup.

Decided to move back to a single screen for the next week or two until I go back home. Using the HDTV as a secondary was ok, but I just don't like it as a screen. Sad that I miss and prefer my freebie 15inch gateway monitor over it. Need to get a second Asus.

The workstation is your desk and monitors and shit, mainly, seeing the innards is an added bonus, but shouldnt be your whole post.

Also have you heard of resizing your images before posting?

Exactly. what is it with people not resizing their damn pics!

this is just no place for noobs, its not out dated.

I don't think it's the user's responsibility to make that forum look "good". If you want it that way maybe you should send a message to the owner and make im build in some scripts for resizing images instead of flaming other users who contribute to this thread. ^^

Is it really contributing to the thread if his "contribution" is a huge-ass, shitty picture of the innards of a computer?

This is about workstations, not "zomg, i did some finicly shit inside my pc to make it look bettar". That shit belongs in the case-mod gallery, or rate my cables. Not this thread.

Now this is a workstation, and the image is even the right size.

Get with the program, or I will post my workstations with this background from now on:

All you folks with triple screens. Anyone wanna donate me your old ones? =P

Looks good guys.

I actually prefer it this way - since Eyefinity doesn't support PLP I'd rather have a large 30" primary monitor that is 31% of my total desktop than 6 identical 24" monitors with the primary only 16% of my total desktop.

In his defense most forums have auto-resizing plugins on their forum software. This place is a bit out-dated.
actually this place is just a bit busy and that would add extra overhead and bandwidth for a forum system already heavy on the pictures :-P

LOL. Well played sir.
+1

but for other stuff like test bench or network status/carpc/hackintosh testing/etc...

Having mismatched monitors like that would drive me insane. Just saying. lol

Same here, my OCD owns me. lol

I deal with it, 2x 26" with a 22" in the middle, but the 22" is the one I game on which is most of what I do in my free time atm if I am sitting at my desk anyway

once I get some extra money/desk space, gonna do a PLP setup, with a 27-30" 4K display as the center display :-P

+1 for not being able to have mismatched monitors. I have a triple monitor setup at work so I am just too used to having matched bezels to see the ugliness of non matching. In fact, I hated it so much I sold my Dell U23 and Asus 24" LED for a single 27" IPS monitor.

no busier than other similar size to bigger and busier tech sites that do it ....

seem's a little excessive for a desk, i guess i would think money could be better spent on other things?

they have their own cooling system, lighting etc all modularized and the same across all the desks.

we have people sit/standing there for up to 16 hours straight

though I tend to agree, and it wasnt my call
