i think someone made those shirts like a year ago as a prank and started selling them. i dont think this confirms anything. there will be a half-life 3 one day obviously, its a much-loved franchise by a company that loves to please its customers. they wont release it until its good and ready though, so who knows when that will be.
 
This is just another troll by Valve. They do this shit all the time. That 3 on his shirt might as well be the pi symbol, its meaningless and doesn't prove a thing.
 
Half Life 3 will come out.

It's just a matter of "when". There's no date on this guy's shirt. So it might as well be 10 years.

what? i dont understand your point. i love valve. i will happily try to get as many people as i can into pc gaming and valve and steam etc. better than console gaming and better than basically every other company in existence. also, i think everyone on this forum already knows who valve is. :p
 
Valve released it on purpose, and they always put this stuff to mess with us. Valve = greatest video game trollers.
 
What I find funny is people bitch about yearly or bi-yearly releases, but when a company takes their time with products, they also bitch about not getting them sooner. Lol.

Besides, there are many things we do that unintentionally gives free marketing to a certain product or service such as when people talking about a good place to eat and so on, I don't see whats wrong with that. Its not like its a crime.

No, I loved everything HL. I know I'm not the only one that's severely disappointed with Valve on this vast chasm of development time that's dubbed "Valve Time" by many.

Most who fall for this type of trolling or little drops of hope really are just trying to taste the vapors of the HL universe's glory days.

HL3 doesn't exist until Valve confirms it OFFICIALLY. Enough said.

Edit: Even with this oddball Ricochet 2 announcement, I'm still not holding my breath unless it changes to be HL3 in name.

haha, fair enough. i dont think you can really fault them for wanting to expand into consoles. its just too lucrative to be a game company and not do the tiny bit of extra work for a large increase in profits. at least theyre still first and foremost a pc game company, and they support their pc games after launch, and they dont have gimped controls, or always-on dlc, etc. i have bought every valve title ever. i have not bought from EA in years except for dead space (meaning no BF3, no DA, no ME, etc :()

Who cares, original HL and its expansions were PC only, Gordon Freeman, Adrian Shepard and Barney ftw!!!!!

I don't mind waiting 5-10 years for a new Doom, Elder Scrolls, or Half-Life game. I hate what they do with COD.

Yeah, that probably is taken too far. He probably hates Half Life fans by now. But still... cake is in portal... and a culture of cake and donuts can signify more than fatness, but also police style workplace.
 
Isn't E3 June 5-7 maybe we will here more then? If not then probably late next year, just in time for the new consoles.
 
i hope gabe announces at E3 that HL3 will be console only, with a pc port maybe a year down the road but dont expect them to change the menus or make eyefinity work right. haha that would be the biggest trololol ever.

and yes gabe is a large man, but damn if i dont wish i worked for him. i read the entire "leaked" new emplyee manual yesterday, and i think everyone in the world probably wishes they worked for valve.

I would love to work there too... come up with creative ideas, eat donuts, come up with creative ideas some more, implement some work, then abandon the project for an even better idea.

yeah reading the handbook kept making me go "ahhhhhh, so thats why HL3 is taking so long" over and over. haha. it seems everyone would want to be working on it, but with no deadlines, no boss pushing you to complete something, and absolutely no excuse for pushing out a crappy product, i can see it just taking forever to get it to where theyre ready to release it.

the longer you take to release a game, the more hype and buzz you create for it, like dnf. if you release it before its done, you get epic consumer backlash, like dnf. valve knows what theyre doing.
 
I'm a huge Valve fan. But I'll say at some point if you need this long to "complete" the game just say you're ending the series. There is no technical/coding reason why it would take so long. If you can't come up with a decent story, either figure out something "good enough" or say enough is enough, this just won't happen.
