it's not on topic, but more importantly both claims are totally, factually incorrect:
Diana developed an intense interest in serious illnesses and health-related matters outside the purview of traditional royal involvement, including AIDS and leprosy. In addition, the Princess was the patroness of charities and organisations working with the homeless, youth, drug addicts and the elderly. From 1989, she was President of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. The day after her divorce, she announced her resignation from over 100 charities to spend more time with the remaining six.[28]
During her final year, Diana lent highly visible support to the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a campaign won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997, only a few months after her death.[29]

Commemoration

Tirana International Airport Mother Teresa (Nënë Tereza).
Main article: Commemorations of Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa inspired a variety of commemorations. She has been memorialized through museums, been named patroness of various churches, and had various structures and roads named after her, including Albania's international airport. In 2009 the Mother Teresa Memorial House was opened in her hometown Skopje, in the Republic of Macedonia.
Mother Teresa Women’s University,[108] Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, has been established in 1984 as a public university by government of Tamil Nadu, India.
Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences,[109] Puducherry has been established in 1999 by Government of Puducherry, India.
Various tributes have been published in Indian newspapers and magazines authored by her biographer, Navin Chawla.[110][111][112][113][114][115][116]
Indian Railways will introduce a new train, "Mother Express", named after Mother Teresa, on 26 August 2010 to mark her birth centenary.[117]
Tamil Nadu State government organised centenary celebrations of Mother Teresa on 4 December 2010 in Chennai, headed by Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi.[118][119]
Film and literature
Mother Teresa is the subject of the 1969 documentary film and 1972 book Something Beautiful for God, a 1997 Art Film Festival award winning film starring Geraldine Chaplin called Mother Teresa: In the Name of God's Poor, a 2003 Italian miniseries titled Mother Teresa of Calcutta, (which was re-released in 2007 and received a CAMIE award,) and was portrayed by Megan Fox in a satirical film-within-a-film in the 2007 movie How to Lose Friends and Alienate People.[120] Hitchen's 1994 documentary about her, "Hell's Angel", claims that she urged the poor to accept their fate, while the rich are portrayed as being favored by God.[121][122]

that's an interesting point. and something to consider - but mother teresa passed on 14 years ago last month almost to the day. is that really on topic????

The point is she died the same week as princess Diana and guess who got all the attention.

Yeah the list is massive and he got it in months...

He didnt buy his way ahead of people that had been waiting for a long time right.

I'm sorry, I used too many words that are too big for you. Let me try again:

The transplant lists are not based on how long people have been waiting. They are based on who needs one the most.

For example, if there was a brain transplant list, you would be on the top of it on the first day you were put on it.

Nice, take it to a personal level because Jobs got insulted... Theres a word for that...

I like what he wrote about work

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle."
– Stanford commencement speech 2005

Fuck Yes I hate that fucking loser and his crap products.

Innovative my ass he copied star trek and the data pad on that show for the fucking ipad and the tablet pc has been in fucking devolpment hell for years before the fucking ipad by just about everybody.

and the fucking iphone is nothing but a gloryfied palm pilot PDA with a fucking cell phone and cell internet stuff in it. I fucking thought of that crap years ago when i wished my fucking PDA had the fucking internet and phone on it and the thing fucking played mp3's and this was 1999. all he did was wait for the fucking cell phone makers to make hardware small enough to stuff into a fucking pda and capcitive touch screens then shipped then out glued togeather.

I can fucking point and tell a group of yes men to go and make that.

the last time this fucker innovated was like 1982 with the and even then he just bought out some tech people already did before since they was doing mouse prototyping before and then he keeps getting like the real groundbraking MIT students work and crap he thinks looks cool then stuffs it into shiny white plastic for his army of clueless losers to buy and he gets hailed as the fucking second coming of christ in the tech world.

He takes the stuff he sees on sci fi TV and then tells a bunch of hardware dudes to go make it like that and buys any prototype tech he can buy that looks like it.

good riddance the world is a better place witth his guy gone just like bin laden there will be less crap tech products for the world to buy he is as evil as the devil himself .

u mad?

I'm not about to glorify him now that he's dead....I still think his business practices were shady and he seemed like a real douche...but in that doesn't change the fact that he was way too young.

He did what was necessary by all businesses to grow. That is not in any way a positive statement.

we hated the guy we made fun of his marketing tactics but lets face it its never fun when someone dies RIP Steve

I mean god You should see what the fucking apple hipsters at 1up.com giantbomb and Twit are saying about the fucking guy you would think he cured cancer.

Clearly some may debate that....................

Exactly what is GB saying that is so offensive to you? That Apple had a big impact on games? For better or worse the iPhone and iTouch have had an irreversible affect on the industry.

Most of you are wrong here. Steve Jobs didn't event anything and is not an inventor but mostly a visionary person. So don't be comparing him with the like of Einstein or Edison. He's more like a "WALT DISNEY".

So who's gonna be zombie jobs for halloween?

I never insulted you. Just because i said no thanks or ill pass doesnt mean i cant back my claims. obvious troll is becoming more obvious.

You didn't insult me, then what the fuck kind of comment is this:
How often do you come out from under your rock?

Not backing your claims does not help your credibility, period.
If you can back your claims, then back them.

I asked you politely before to PM me with some info, you never did.
That tells me you can't back squat.

What every fucking clueless apple PC tech dude says, BLAH BLAH he invented everything BLAH He changed the world BLAH BLAH BLAH and all the other Crap like he was fucking raptor jesus and walked on water when he really didn't do much of jack or somebody else did it first.

Only those dudes didn't have fucking shiny white ass plastic cases, (or in the 90's he invented color plastic imacs for the zombies to droll over.)

No in truth he was an evil overlord that makes Bill gates look nice and he ruined the tech world forever with his stranglehold he is trying to keep on the once more open fucking computer market and the world is better off with him dead and his company going under like it was in the fucking 90's when only schools bought there crap and the plastic look like gray dirt so the zombies attracted to color/ shiny white things would not buy it.

I will be using my more open linux based android tablet/phone now oh and buliding my own PC in joy because I can If steve jobs and his apple crap took over those freedoms would be a thing of the past.

So, claiming you invented a bunch of things, that they are "magical" and "revolutionary", and also suing a bunch of people for patent rights is what is necessary for a business to grow? Yeah, okay...

Not to mention the Foxxconn slave labor, but I know that is not just Apple. Though for being such a "progressive" company as they made themselves out to be, they certainly aren't.

They are quite effective in making Apple grow and prosper. The cult of Steve Jobs is gloriously successful in making profit, and we can't deny the effectiveness of it. Besides, Foxconn is to bear all the sins of being a slave labor employer at the end of the day...

All I'm saying is that there are plenty of businesses who are thriving and they did not resort to such tactics. So clearly they are not "necessary" for a business to succeed.

Perhaps not, but Apple is the most liquid company in the world.
That's a little bit more than successful if you ask me.

Ya know, I'm going to say this, and I'm going to be honest. I hate Apple products, I hate the locked down environment, and I hate the price tag just the same. Today's death of Steve Jobs, though, was a huge loss to the tech industry. Not because he made the best hardware, but because he envisioned the hardware we use today years ago.

While he wouldn't have gotten his visions ten feet off of the ground without Wozniak, I still consider the man a great man. While I will never buy an apple based product, I will say this; Without Jobs there, would we have the "Smartphone", would we have that portable MP3 player, better yet, would anyone have really given two shits about the PC back in the 80's if the man didn't popularize, or at least make it known to the public that computers could exist in the home would we have sites like [H]?

I know alot of you will disagree, but the man did a lot to bring the modern era of the PC into fruition, just sad he wasn't on the good side to me.. I'm a Windows person, honestly prefer open ended software. I just have to pay my respects to one of the god-fathers of the personal computer. /bow

I know what you're saying but that's like saying - without Edison, would we have the light bulb. And the answer is yes.

Just because a business model works for this or that company doesnt mean it works for everyone else. Just because you dont like a particular model doesnt make it any less successful nor does it mean they should stop what they are doing because some people dont like it.

one of the first mp3 players and they was taking off just fine, like HDTV only the extreme cost was holding the things back in the 90s.

Steve jobs had nothing to do with it other than make it suck by offering mp3 only with bad quailty compressed audio from a store you fucking pay for the crap rather than ripping CD with better sound and having both.

Dude, all that F-bomb necessary??? Really? Are you 12?

Rule #7, read it.

Careful now, the internet is serious business.

Seriously, lay off with the ridiculous amount of swearing. It does nothing but make you look bad and is totally unnecessary

iTunes does not and has not offered MP3s, ever. If 256kbps audio isn't good enough for your ears, you're not going to be buying things from the iTunes store in the first place, are you? You act like he single-handedly constrained the entire industry.

If you're going to try to use facts, you might as well make sure they're true first.

extreme cost...that and early mp3 players were so ugly only geeks wanted one (and glasses were *not* cool back then) and they didn't have a click wheel, which incidentally Jobs *is* lead inventor on the patent filings. but if you don't care about the click wheel you don't, but it's not simple brainwashing that made the iPod what it was and continued to be through the years.

if nothing else, you'd think most everyone here would at least thank the guy for making being all teched out cool instead of just riding on his coattails because before Apple did all the things so many here enjoy hating on and attributing to hipsters and douches and yada yada the reality is that no one thought twice about Bill Gates or geeks or nerds or anyone really who could negotiate the internals of a computer unless they needed something fixed.

now? now the hottest women either try to be geek chic or at least hook up with a geek and that's due to the apple factor of turning tech toys into something to admire and drool over by the masses.
