The official "clean desktop" club.

.. If that's the case, I am so slow ;)

TooBooKoo: I actually did try changing them to different colors, and it actually looked really weird! They didn't look great... I probably just have to play around with different colors, and then I should be able to find a good color combination that is not too overpowering :)

bang on, "chinspecial"

its actually a very nice background,

Syribo, I like the desktop... looks nice. It would be pretty cool too if you changed the colors of all of your widget meters to match the colors on the walpaper... like one green, one yellow, one blue, etc. you get the idea.

:( Thanks for bringing up that point that I should change the meter colors.. I spent a while trying to figure out how to get them looking best, and of course decided to go with rainbow ;) It DOES look nice.

Syribo, how do you get your desktop images to post so perfectly? Mine as always fuzzy and blurry (especially on the taskbar).

I know that this has been asked before, but what program do you use (and what widget/gadget/etc.) to display the meters and the time and stuff?

Here you go, this is everything I use.

Top left are Neon Gauges: http://widgets.yahoo.com/widgets/neo...es-system-info

Dock is ObjectDock with a ton of icons I downloaded from a bunch of sites, mainly http://www.wincustomize.com/

Clock is Neon Clock: http://widgets.yahoo.com/widgets/neon-clock

The network thing is from Rainmeter.. http://customize.org/rainmeter/skins/55820

The Winamp skin I am using is called Spirit, here's the link:
http://stefanka.deviantart.com/art/Spirit-10310941

And if you're interested, the visualization I am using is the Classic Spectrum Analyzer:
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/165966

The weather is a weather gadget thingy for Windows Sidebar in Vista.

drew630: I just Print Screen, paste into Photoshop, then save as a JPEG (It always makes everything on the screenshots look clear), and upload it to my Photobucket Pro account which lets you post bigger picture file sizes.

Thanks a lot! Definitely more useful and cleaner than using the Sidebar.

Here's my updated desktop (I removed my second monitor for now, that's why it's smaller):

Good price.
I haven't been working on the icons as much as I'd like lately... been too busy, but hopefully I can get back to it soon.

The little picture in the corner is the "One Photo" Yahoo! widget... I have it displaying some art from one of my fellow Deviant Artists :D
My favorite thing about this desktop is the recycle bin, and I love all the wood... tried to clean my monitor and got a splinter :p

^^ Nice desktop. Didn't think that wood would ever work for a theme, but you pull it off.
Now please clue me in on google midnight. How'd you get that?

Thanks for the compliment :D

Get "Stylish" for Firefox...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108

then get this "Google Midnight"...
http://userstyles.org/styles/7541

Then if you'd like the dark skins for Firefox also (optional, as it doesn't affect Google Midnight) then get this...
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4908

There have been a couple nice wood setups that I've seen, though they were on other sites.

Toobookoo, are you using 32 or 64bit? And what did you use to change the style? I heard about styleselecter, but it only works on 32 bit.

EDIT: Just read the other desktop thread, </3 windowsblinds >_>

Ah, I want that gear. I can't find out how to get it up there unless it's a widget and not part of the original widget program ;o

New monitor:
