Figured that would get your attention. Check out this shipping job from newegg. I kid you not this is 100% accurate and this is exactly how it came minus the packing list. Sorry if this was the wrong forum but I got a kick out of this when I found it on my porch this afternoon :)

haha! I ordered as5 and arciticlean from svc and there was a box with a boat load of peanuts. I thought there wasnt anything in there but i fished around alittle big and found them lol

The funniest part was before I opened it I couldnt figure out how a little thing of AS5 could be rolling around in this big box. That was until I realized it was double boxed ;)

I don't much see the sense in ordering the small ones anymore. I have the bigger tubes of both AS5 and Ceramique, and they've been around the block between my machines and friends' machines needing thermal, and I've barely put a dent in either of them. Definately worth getting. :) But yes, that shipment is just silly.

HAHA - I always ask SVC to hold the peanuts and they never do.

PWAHAHAH! I had a single stick of laptop ram come like that from newegg (Allthough it also had an antistatic bag).

You cant say they arent consistant :D

I'd laugh if that went through a metal detector at an airport or something and they kept looking at it trying to figure out wtf was in there. They'd see this little tube and start thinking chemical weapons or something.

That is some pretty shitty packing. You certainly don't want to break that thing. I'd at least have expected them to tape it to the bottom of the box or something to keep it from rattling around. Especially considering the use of all the boxes to begin with.

Holy crap, I am still laughing.

That is hilarious...

I orderedsome AS5 from SVC on Wednesday, I think it will be here by Tuesday. I wonder if they will do the same :D

have you ever dropped an AS5 tube from height? they're hard to break :p

That packaging is nothing. One time I ordered 3 guitar pedals (each box is about the size of 3 decks of cards), a bag of picks and a capo from music123.com The package was freaking huge, I didn't even realize it was for me until my dad said something. The box was 4 ft high, 3 ft long, and 3 ft wide. I couldn't believe it. I felt the same way the op felt ;)

Actually, I broke the nozzle off my big tube by dropping it :(. Never played with those small ones before.

Amazing they can overkill the shipment of thermal grease and then ship hard drives just wrapped in bubble wrap :p I get all my stuff from newegg, but sometimes they really lamely ship things.

Hey aarong50,

We have sent you a PM to inquire about the packaging for this recent purchase. Please review the PM and reply to it at your earliest convenience. Thanks.

ohhhhh, copy paste that pm, wanna know what they say lol

we have ordered 100 or so k worth of stuff from newegg the past couple years.. and yeah.. we get the same type things sometimes with packaging.. sometimes a way overkill, others not enough.

LOL.

My laughing attacted a few classmates, but they were puzzled as to why I was laughing.

Newegg just wanted the sales order number so they "track" these situations. I am not going to give it to them if they are gonna fire some poor guy who was just doing his job - maybe a little better than they had wanted.

Off topic: Just got my Opteron 165 from Monarch today, it was in a tiny plastic package with a piece of foam on the pins. It was just layed into a box about 2 inches thick and about 10 inches long, with a piece of bubble wrap on one side to "wedge" it in the box so it didnt move. Its nice to see they decided one side of my processor would be completely safe pressed against the side of a fedex box

Good thinking.

Did they ship the AS5 from their CA warehouse? When I ordered AS5 it was shipped from their NH warehouse and it didn't come overpacked.

I have used Newegg almost exclusively for years and I really like their service. I have never heard of SVC.com

They are a British website. Dunno if they ship to the States though.. they do ship all throughout Europe.
