Thanks, the TV rocks.. its fun to show off when people come over. Generally they gauk at the TV itself, but when I boot up the HTPC most of them just stare in awe.... its hilarious. Then they sit on the couch and do nothing but hit myspace.com hahah I have to pry people off the leather just to go out.

not sure if I got my updated workstation into this one yet. Here is my main workstation in the [H] underground bunker. I have another workstation and then the test area...but this is where 90% of my work is done / time is spent.

One dual monitor Intel/ATi box. One dual monitor AMD/NVIDIA box. One Intel box that shares a LCD with an Xbox.

i got this same background, great stuff.

update: got some new pics featuring my ghetto modded case. i didn't wanna risk getting too close for fear of scratching my lens on the jagged dremel cuts. not bad for an case from the 90's though, airflows seems to be more than adequate for the amd, although i've never tried to overclock it nor do i plan to with my budget hardware.

I just moved in on Thursday. There's only one desk currently in the house, and that's already in use by the other guy currently living in the house.

Hopefully sometime this week, probably when I get paid on Thursday, I'll go either find a very cheap desk or build a minimal desk. I'll only be here for about 2 1/2 months, so I don't need something fancy or expensive. I've already got a nice 9'x2' desk at home.

My desktop, since I have no place to set it up, is currently sitting in the corner. The Shuttle in the Shuttle bag and the LCD in its box.

Its ok atleast you have a PC.

I hope you paid for almost all of those PCs. I mean if you didn't its fine, I just want to know when your parents can send me some of that money that they have. If they paid for all of those computers. If you paid for them, then I feel really dumb and will then want to go kill myself.

How do you like that samsung TV? My grandparents are thinking about getting a samsung DLP in the near future. Is the quality nice? does it make a loud whine? how are the built in speakers? does it have bad glare or ghosting?

Samsung makes the best DLPs on the market HANDS DOWN. I researched for about 6 months before buying and believe me I knew about 10x what every sales person I talked to did. The average sales person at BB, Circuit City or whatever doesn't know shit.. even the managers. They're all in it for the buck and I met I think one younger guy who knew what was up.

Picture is beautiful, no noise and by far the best DLP out there. This TV comes highly recommended... I wouldn't allow a family member to buy another one if they were looking for something in this range. Simply unbeatabe... (reguardless of what Sony LCD owners tell you.)

If they want something over 40".... LCD is out of the question. DLP and Plasma are it, however plasma has screen burn in and is 3x more. DLP is nice because you can change the lamp in a few years and its back to original quality.. no screen burn in. LCD over 40" is streched and gives an effect called SDR (screen door effect) where it looks like someone put a screen door in front of the screen. You can see this by going to BB and looking at a 40"+ LCD then a DLP ..huge difference in picture quality. Basically all pixels for LCD and DLP are the same size however the space between the pixels is larger on LCD. When you stretch the screen over ~40" this space is so large it creates slight black lines in the pictures, no matter the situation.

I don't get ghosting and glare isn't a huge problem. The major difference between DLP and Plasma is the viewing angle as I'm sure you know. So with plasma you can see from the side a whole lot better and get less glare, but overall there was nothing in this price range that even competed IMO. Tell them to buy this tv.

Same here, one day I will have X-men 1 - X and The Amazing Spider man 1 - X and a few other series 1 - what ever they go too. How much is that x-men 1 worth no adays? 5-10k?

theNoid,
I love the Samsungs too. My DLP is the predecesor to yours by one year. Still love it. Right now, it's only used for PS2 and computer viewing (it's my 2nd monitor with the dell pictured) I've posted my workstation here before, but it has had a few additions since then. Here's some new pics with my main CRT HDTV which is also Samsung (just to show you guys how much of a Samsung nut I am).

BTW Steve, Sweet comic book collection. I collect toys and there's a link for a small part of my collection. I guess we will all have the kid in us forever.

I'm a big Wolverine fan if you haven't noticed. I have the entire run of the first monthly series, the Frank Miller mini-series and a few more boxes filled with one-shots, minis, etc. Once I start raking in the big money I'm heading after Hulk 181, Giant Size X-Men #1, and other key issues to ol' Logan. Oh, and if anyone can tell what is in the bottom of the display cabinet in the first picture you get an e-cookie. I'll post pictures of it soon. :)
