Eye-strain with new monitor - how did you deal with it?

Did your former monitor have an IPS panel? XG43VQ is a VA panel, and VAs have this weird pixel alignment which tends to make text look blurrier.

    Looking for CCFL FullHD monitor

Built-in blue light filter doesn't always work that great from my experience. Have you tried F.lux?

    Do CRT's like 60 Hz?

I've read some guy who fixed them said it mostly comes down to the amplifier besides grill pitch. According to him the best CRTs capable of 1600x1200x100 with good sharpness are the ones with Hitachi FA4301 amp: FW900, F500 and F520 being the best. He also said you need a BNC cable for maximum...

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

2600K should be fine for that. However, I do find 10700K at 5GHz all cores with 32 gigs of RAM to be a bit more responsive in day to day tasks than my olde system (2500K at 4.5, 8GB RAM). For example switching YouTube to full screen and back happens faster and smoother. Sometimes my old system...

Any new OLED monitors coming out next year (2021)?

That's the point I was trying to make: keep making 50+ panels, while shinking down CX48 even further.

Any new OLED monitors coming out next year (2021)?

I think it's too risky for them releasing an OLED PC monitor since burn-in is still an issue, nor is that profitable because they can still milk LCD. IMO It would be smarter for them to continue making smaller TVs which are as close to a PC monitor as possible while technically still being TVs...

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

No problem, Taco. Since I bought 2500K in 2011 only 2 things greatly improved overall responsivness: SSD and 144Hz.

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

I'll keep 10700k anyway so I can sell my 2500k while I still can. I just can't see a huge difference yet, unless I'm playing games, where the difference is HUGE even with the same GPU.

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

So I got my new PC yesterday. A 10700K with 3200 CL16 RAM and a decent motherboard. I must say the single core performance is pretty disappointing. I got a 15-20% improvement in most cases and a 30% improvement in some cases over the 2500k which is not what I'd hoped for considering 2500k runs...

Need a good monitor, mine got busted.. I haven't researched in years, what's good for a 200 to 300$ budget Used or New?

Have you considered a 144Hz display? I know you're not a gamer but It just makes everything feel so much better (like watching levels in a mixer for example). Switching from 60Hz to 144 is kinda like switching to SSD. I'd go for a 1440p 144Hz+ IPS display, their image quality is great (there are...

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

That's nice to hear. Have you noticed any other benefits in day to day usage? I did consider it, but 10700k has more cache and slightly faster clock speeds and I heard some extra cache could be beneficial for the software I use. Plus 2 more cores make it a bit more future-proof. I tried it...

Upgrading from 2500k to 10700k for single core performance. Is it worth it?

Hey! I've been using 2500k at 4.5 GHz since 2011. I use it for work and playing Overwatch. I was thinking about upgrading since Overwatch performance got terrible lately. However the software I use for work relies heavily on single core performance. So I'd like to get a noticeable boost in...
