I bought the chip from newegg a month ago and i installed the cpu wrong and sadly broke off 3 pins. I am selling this combo...

AMD64 retail HS + thermal pad

its better to get 99% isopropyl alchohol. ive heard overheating problems with people that cleaned their heatsink/IHS with 70% isopropyl alchohol. The thing is that 70% isopropyl alchohol evaporates slower than 99%, therefore leaving small residue behind on the IHS and heatsink. Its best to use...

AMD64 retail HS + thermal pad

the IHS is the heat spreader on the back of the cpu chip. Iso is short for isopropyl.. you can get isopropyl alcohol from your local duane reade/cvs or any pharmacys. Use q-tips to clean the heatsink and IHS.

AMD64 retail HS + thermal pad

Omg.. you should be happy that your cpu didnt fry.. THE BEST ADVICE to you right now is.. clean off everything off the heatsink and the IHS with iso alcohol.. and apply the thermal compound that you bought.. but if you can spend another 5 bucks.. u should get AS5.. best choice. I still can't...

    Finally ordered....XP-120..got some questions...

IMPORTANT ::: I've read a post somewhere that someone did a experiment of this. The results were BARELY NOTICABLE. Maybe 1-1.5 degrees different. He said that the better choice one is the one with the grain size AS5. SO EVERYONE.. TAKE OFF YOUR HEATSINKS AND RE-APPLY YOUR AS5...

    3 pin missing 3000+ winny

My nephew installed his brand new 3000+ uncorrectly and unfortunately broke 3 pins. The cpu hasnt been used or turned on due to the 3 missing pins. With great soldering skills, this cpu can be use-able. The original manual, heatsink and fan will be included. Everything is inside the retail box...

    AS5 Reapplication

yes you should completely remove and clean off the old AS5 on the chip and heatsink before you re-apply it. Be sure to follow the intructions for applying the AS5 on the Artic Silver website..

    AS5 Reapplication

you dont want no air-pockets.. that would be dangerous.. Its better if you re-apply that AS5 to be on the safe side.
