I just rmaed a mobo and took off my xp-90 and cpu chip out of the mobo.

I had AS5 on the cpu chip and xp-90 spread out in a circular pattern on both. I followed the AS5 web site instructions.

However, I didn't get to run my computer for long and only got about 50 hours of run time on it.

My question is that do I have to take off my old AS5 with iso alochol and then reapply per instructions on site or can I just stick my cpu chip in the new mobo and then slap the xp-90 on it without having to take off the old AS5 and add a new application of it.

Thanks! :D

you dont want no air-pockets.. that would be dangerous.. Its better if you re-apply that AS5 to be on the safe side.

Should I also then take off the old AS5 with iso alcohol before reapplying the AS5?

yes you should completely remove and clean off the old AS5 on the chip and heatsink before you re-apply it. Be sure to follow the intructions for applying the AS5 on the Artic Silver website..

Cool. I was just worried that maybe some of the AS5 went in already and applying some more might mess it up. I have seen that too much AS5 is bad. Yup, I be sure to follow those intructions again. I got the iso alcohol already. Thanks.
