Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'll be getting the i5-4690K and Asrock H97M-ITX/AC mITX Motherboard this weekend from Microcenter. Also, the Crucial BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00 Ballistix Sport 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM may be on sale there as well and the Coolermaster Elite 130 mITX Case is on sale for $33!
I ordered the Seasonic...
This is going into an upstairs bedroom where there is no physical line available. Therefore, wireless will have to do for now.
This build will more than likely last longer than 6 years.
MIcrocenter is close by so I will check them out for the combo deals.
I'll table the Windows version...
Yes, I thought about Microcenter. Hate paying 6% sales tax though ;)
I could get away using 8GB of RAM as long as it will be enough for Win7 64bit.
That case doesn't matter too much to me as long as it's attractive. This is for the wife so styling is everything!
I am looking for advice on a build to perform web browsing and office/admin type work and maybe mild game usage. I'm not committed to any of the listed components from PC Hound. I would like to stay with a variation of the i5 CPU and I've used ASUS on my higher end build which I like. I...
There's nothing Asus related in the start up. I don't knowingly use the Asus software and don't mind uninstalling it. Just not sure how, if at all will affect the performance of the mobo.
I keep having the User Account Control window pop up for each standard user every time they log on. You have to type in the admin password for it to go away. It's four in total that pop up and they are for the Asus motherboard (Turbo V help, Asus Mobilink, EPU help & AI Suite II). Any idea...
That did it! All it took was to reset the CMOS. Ok, now why after a year and a half of no issues would this happen? What is the cause? BTW, thanks so much for your response!
Hello,
I've got a pc that I built over a year ago and all has been fine. I recently shut it down and simply unplugged it form the back of the power supply. Two days latter, I plugged it back in and nothing happens. No fans spinning or anything running. I do see the power light and reset...
I am currently running Photoshop CS5 off of the motherboard Asus Z68-V Pro on board graphics. It is running fine but want to upgrade to a graphics card for the future purchase of CS6. I am not a gamer but do occasionally run MS Flight sim. In trying to keep the cost below $200, I was looking...
I've got 2x4gb of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) in a ASUS P8Z68-V PRO MB and noticed in the BIOS that the RAM is only running at 1333. In my none technical mind, shouldn't this be running at 1600? If so, how do I get it there? I've been in the BIOS and there is no clear way that I...
Hello!
I am a photographer in need of additional HD space. I currently have a 1TB WD EADS Green drive that is almost full and has given me no problems. I'm looking to add a 2TB drive and was looking for suggestions. I see that the Samsung F3 1TB has been suggested on this forum but...
As a first time PC builder, I am pleased to say that everything went well. All hardware went together nicely and software loaded with no problems. I do have a few questions and could use some help.
1) Should the power supply Corsair 650TX) be mounted in such a way that the fan points...
I have a new Coolmaster HAF 922 case and I noticed in the BIOS of my ASUS P8Z68 V-Pro motherboard that the front fan is only operating at around 433 rpm. The only reason that I noticed it is because that fan shows up red in the BIOS. All other fans are showing blue. I have it plugged into the...
