I agree. For the SOHO segment, single thread and higher clock speeds will be better for AMD in terms of performance. The segment that "whatevs" is talking about is the server environment where lots of threads and multithreading really come into play; the server segment. Although I would like...
Hey guys, I was going to sign up for this, and I'm on the page, but it wants me to select a group based on astrological signs. Does that matter?
Never mind...I got it.
Kranium, with that in mind, I did look at the previous stats of that account, and that does appear to be mine, I just wanted to know where to do in the case that it is not. I do appreciate your help!
Thanks Kranium. Let's just assume for a moment that due to the time I have been away from this activity that I am neither of those two. What would I do then? I do admit that I did do a little F@H when the client was included with the ATi drivers, but due to stability issues I didn't continue...
OK guys, I had done some folding quite some time ago, but that was before they started using GPUs for processing. I'm already part of the SETI, Colatz, and M@H [H] teams. However, the interface for F@H has changed substantially since the last time I was doing it.
I'm trying to register at...
No need to worry about flashing. If you get a reference model card, it has a dual BIOS. There is a small switch on the card to switch over, so if the BIOS flash fails, you can get the card booted back up.
Flashed my MSI 6950 with no issues. Works great, and I even overclocked once the new...
Can some one point me to a link on this cursor problem? I've had a 4850, 4890, and currently a 6950 flashed to 6970, and have had zero driver issues. I'd be interested to know what this problem is about.
I'm more an ATi/AMD fan than NV, even though I've owned both for many years. Quite honestly, I've always had better luck with ATi drivers than NV drivers; your mileage may vary.
My most recent acquisition was an MSI 6950 that flashed to 6970 without issue. The card has given me even more...
Same here. Had a 4850, 4890, and now a 6950 (unlocked to 6970) and have not had any issues that are driver related. Most of my issues have been due to trying to wring just a little more out of my Q6600, and 3.32GHz is just all this one is going to give me.
Ahhh, very cool. Thanks a bunch. That worked like a charm, and quite easy. One simple CFG change and all is good. It upped my limits on the core and RAM.
While I prefer ATI cards myself, Civ V has proven to be better on NV cards in that higher levels of AA are possible, which will be desirable at that resolution.
