Hi I recently bought an ASUS A8V-VM SE motherboard for my x2 3800+ 939. It was the only matx 939 motherboard in stock for miles so I had little choice. Its only necessary if you have the front I/O breakout box like the Fatal1ty X-Fi FPS or the external box with the X-Fi Elite Pro. Silverstone TJ-08?
I got the TJ-08 and i tell you... You can fit 2 8800GTXs, 2x 120mm Radiators a decently sized PSU and much more! Not exactly 'small' but its smaller then normal, easier to carry to LANs then ATX PCs etc.- Tomato Source

If i was using the board in a HTPC setup I'm unlikely to require a S/PDIF in, probably why it was removed. Whoooooowheeee, a local store (in the UK here) is selling the Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD in 4 days. question regarding *these* straps (look inside)...
I have been using those in my system for years now, no problem. My educated guess; they are too small to harbour a charge strong enough to damage components. Besides, what in your PC is able to generate a static charge with those straps?- Tomato Source
