Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I installed tomato on my wrt54g a while ago and set it up as a bridge / disabled dhcp etc.
It was working fine, but now I need to change some settings and I plugged my laptop into one of the ports on the "Switch" in the back and realized I dont have an IP to connect to...
How can I...
So the extra memory you can put in the "higher end" cards will not help at all when hooking up 20 drives to the expander?
Was planning to use this to host my virtual machines so Id like it to be as snappy as the card can deliver.
Is there any reason to get the more expensive cards over the base version if you plan to use this with an expander and dont need the extra ports the $700+ cards offer?
Just looking for suggestions on if its worth it to spend the ~$200 more on a evga 480 vs 470?
I have the evga gtx260 vanilla now and its ran all my games fine, until today I purchased ARMA 2 and it runs terribly.
I have a core i7 and 6gb of ram, and feel the video card is severely...
is vcenter to esxi virtual machines what "hyper-v manager" is to hyper-v 2008 r2 virtual machines?
But it sounds like you need a dedicated server to run it off of where hyper-v manager has a really light footprint and can run on a win7 workstation??
(excuse my ignorance, starting to...
What is the difference between logging into the local computer / logging into the domain if both ways say they are connected to the domain (via the "Computer Name" info screen).
Im not using roaming profiles, the main reason these workstations are on the domain is so they have trusted access...
Any point to installing these under win7 if you are not using raid? Just 1 single 80GB drive here...
aka performance increase over the stock win7 driver??
Oh sorry I didnt list the controller, I have the areca 1680. So it shouldnt effect performance at all? I want to put 2 SSD's in raid 0 for my OS partition and then also have it control my storage array and keep the two completely separate...
I already have the storage array running fine, was...
I was planning to use iSCSI as my NAS is running server 2008.
I've never seen a VM host server before?? Is it going to be much faster?? The reason I would like to use the NAS was to avoid the costs associated with building another server, and because I think the NAS has enough free resources...
Ok so following your advice I begain to use the vlsm calc and visio to plan out a subnet diagram which will keep everything in its own little corner of the network :D
But something I noticed was, the largest subnet (/25 in my case) was assigned (by the calculator) the first block of IP's such...
I didn't know they would initiate connections on their own...?
If I do this and I'm at a workstation, then I want to check on a server can I still RDP into it as if they were on the same subnet / vlan or will I have a problem?
When you said a vlan for network management, what exactly falls...
I mapped out my network on visio a long time ago, and keep it updated...
What are the benefits of having everything on a separate vlan vs as I have it now where servers have an IP range, network devices have an IP range, etc.
The raptors are whats in the VM server right now, im currently running the VM's off those in JBOD fashion sata 3.0
But what I was thinking of doing was moving the VM files to the NAS array which right now is 10 of the hitachi deskstar 7200rpm drives in raid 6. That way I could have more...
Just curious: How come the most used mask is /24?? Its for 254 host addresses right? What kind of bad things happen if you use larger than 24, such as /20 or .. comedy option /8??
But I see /24 the most, what about smaller masks like /27 and the smallest is /30 right or 2 hosts?
