The funny thing is the game would say I was running at 40 - 60FPS. My monitor runs at 60 mhz so that explains the 60 cap for me.

It is very possible I had a bad chip, funny though windows ran just fine, plus my future mark score was not bad at all. Oh well, I will just upgrade to the FX2 153 dual core when its available ;)

Just an update, I bought an FX 55 to replace the Opteron 170. What a difference! My games are now running smooth and are very fast. It was the processor causing all my problems. So if you’re buying a 170 for gaming I would think twice.

What I did for the affinity is launch WOW and Alt + Tab out and bring up task manager and uncheck one of the cores then Alt + Tab back, no change in game. So you have a Opteron 170 and WOW runs smooth as silk? What rez?
