Another thing really quick:
Here's the Gigabyte board i was looking at (rated at 1600/1333)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128358
And here's the 780i board i would be willing to get as it has a good rebate, along with the option to go SLI in the future, but its...
Hey guys,
I'm looking for an lga775 mother board ~150US that can run at least a 1600mhz fsb. I'm going to put a q9550 on it with either ddr2 800 or 1066 memory. My goal is 3.6-3.8ghz, so i guess what im really looking for is a mainstream stable overclocking board. Where i struggle knowing...
finally upgrading from my s939 fx-55 to the q9550 (can't justify spending so much on the i7) and i have a few questions before i purchase memory. I'm looking at getting 2x2gb (still running xp, might get another 2x2gb when upgrading to vista/windows 7) but im not sure what speed i want to get...
Well i guess the only thing that would stop me from buying an ultra would be, don't you think they will have at least the first round of geforce 9 out by the time nehalem comes out (a little under a year from now, probably)? Also, do you really think spending $300 more for an ultra wouldn't...
@ Jpangelo - a top of the line gfx would fit a new mobo a year from now (i don't see why it shouldn't) the only thing is, if i got say an 8800ultra instead of 8800gt, i would spend $300 more, and probably wouldn't see that much more performance (b/c of my cpu). When i upgrade to nehalem, the...
Looking for suggestions for upgrading my pc. I have:
fx-55 @ 3.0
4x512mb corsair twinx512-3200xlpro
asus a8n sli-premium s939
7800gtx 256mb
corsair hx620w
I plan on waiting about another year for nehalem to come out to get a new processor. All the older dualcore amd processors are...
will the hx620 be able to power as much as the gxs700 with one less 12v rail? Also where is your source for those ripples bbq? Reviews for the gxs700 seem quite stable at high loads.
Hey guys,
Ok, after reviewing everyone's responses (thanks again) i tried a few more tests. The first thing i tried was setting the PCI bus to 33.33mhz and trying again. That time i got a FSB of 220mhz before a BSOD occurred. Then i tried loosening the timings to 3-3-3-6 2T and upping the...
I'm pretty sure that 216mhz is a ridiculously low FSB overclock value. This is what i did: First i set my HT multi to 3x, then i set my cpu multi to 5x, then i set my ram freq to 100mhz (ddr200 speed). As i gradually overclocked my FSB i could only get to 216mhz before my computer rebooted...
currently on newegg both these cards are on sale
XtremeGamer Fatal1ty
XtremeMusic
both are for a pretty good price with the rebates. I know the fatal1ty has the xram, which would be the main reason for getting it over the music, but from what i've seen some think it's useful, others...
can anyone here compare the 22" to the 20" (X20WC-Gamer vs x22wg-Gamer)?
the specs say that the 22" has a higher contrast ratio but no glossy screen, and the 20" has lower contrast but has the glossy screen. on costco, the 22" is $300, and the 20" is $230
can anyone compare the 22" to the 20" (X20WC-Gamer vs. x22wg-Gamer)
the specs say the 22" has a 1200:1 but with no glossy screen, and the 20" has 800:1 with a glossy screen, any advice?
