Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Well, that kingston memory was on sale for $160. Seemed like it was a good deal whether it was high performance or not. Figured I would pick up a 2GB kit if I could make sure it would work. But Kingston doesn't list it for my board.
But that memory should run at 333MHz if 400 doesn't work?
Well Kingston's website says I can only get 2GB using 333MHz modules and that I can't get any more than 1GB using 400MHz modules.
Can anyone clear this up?

As a follow-up, if I buy this memory, it should work, right? It says it has 16 chips per stick (16x64MB). So, since it's less than 32 chips, it shouldn't be subject to the 1 DIMM restriction, right?

I have a P4S800 currently with 512MB DDR400. I need to upgrade my memory so I can run Flight Simulator X.
The MB manual says that it supports up to 3GB of memory (it has 3 slots) with the following note:
"PC2100/PC1600 up to 3 DIMMs; PC3200/PC2700 up to 2 DIMMs; 1GB PC3200/2700 with 32 DDR...
I tried resetting the jumpers in various configurations. No deal. Still intermittent boots. Doesn't make any sense to why it won't turn on sometimes, but when it does it works fine.
Just put a new motherboard in this machine. It's got a weird problem when I turn it on. Sometimes, after I turn it on, there is no output on the monitor and the computer does not POST. But if I open the computer up and jiggle the memory around some, the computer will beep and post and will boot...
The hard drive has a condition where, sometimes when I start the computer, the hard drive will not turn on! I usually have to turn the computer on and off 4 or 5 times before the drive starts. Also, if the computer is on, but the drive is not, and I unplug the power cord from the drive and plug...
I'm going to send it to Newegg on Monday unless anybody can give me a really good reason why not to. I figure my chances of getting a replacement faster are better with them rather than ASUS. With ASUS, there's the chance that they might test it and it turns out to work for them, but not for me...
I've got an asus p4s800 that was defective on arrival. I've already requested RMA's from both newegg and Asus, both of whom require that I pay to send it back to them. I was wondering if any of you had any opinions as to whom I should return it and who would provide the best service and fastest...
I called Asus and they gave me a RMA for the board. Does this make sense that the board could be bad? I told the guy my symptoms, then he asked a few things like what is the processor temp, then told me my mobo is bad.
My old system got fried by a faulty power supply I put on it to test it (or so I think), so I ordered some new parts:
Asus P4S800 Motherboard
Pentium 4 3.0E GHZ Prescott
512 PC3200 Kingston Value RAM
Case with 350W power supply.

I was trying to fix my sister's computer which no longer turned on. I suspected the power supply was bad, so I put a new power supply in her computer to test it, and it didn't work. Then I got the great idea to test to see if her power supply was bad by hooking it up to a working computer, MY...
