Trying to connect to a D-Link DES-1526 POE Switch

bman212121. You did it for me!!! While what you suggested wasn't the final solution, it did give me the direction I needed to solve the issue. I had hooked my laptop straight to the switch and have been scanning IP's with Angry Scan with no luck. I scanned the entire 192.168 range and nothing...

Trying to connect to a D-Link DES-1526 POE Switch

My network is configured for the 192.168.0.0 network and I have multiple network devices that operate fine. I figured my next step would be to connect my laptop directly and try it and bypass everything else. Not familiar with wireshark but will look into it. Wasn't familiar with Angry...

Trying to connect to a D-Link DES-1526 POE Switch

My router is configured to be my DHCP server and I did look at that list and it is not listed. Browsing to 192.168.0.1 just times out. The IP scan I did with Angry IP Scanner did not find it when I scanned the entire 192.168. scheme. I'm wondering if the company had used an alternate static...

Trying to connect to a D-Link DES-1526 POE Switch

Have had an old D-Link 24 port POE switch that I used for a while after the company I worked for was going to toss it for recycling. As a straight up switch, it worked fine. I made some half-hearted attempts to connect to the internal server with no success but with no need to really manage...

Getting an ATX power supply (24 pin) to run an old MB

Success!!! Finally found a traditional 20 pin ATX PSU and was able to boot the MB successfully. I would still like to learn though what the deal is with the Dell PSU that has the non-traditional pin-out if anyone knows. Otherwise, thanks for all the replies as that is what allowed me to...

Getting an ATX power supply (24 pin) to run an old MB

Ok, Clearly I have lost the ability to count. My header and PSU connector are 20 pin, not 24. Still, there is no green wire and shorting pins 13 and 14 or 14 and another ground doesn't spin the PSU.

Getting an ATX power supply (24 pin) to run an old MB

By pin count, I am on pin 16 and I tried pin 15 as well as other common grounds. Looking at the connector though the pin 16 wire is not green. In fact there are no green wires. See photos below of both sides of the 24 pin connector and also the 6 pin auxiliary connector. As I indicated, this...

Getting an ATX power supply (24 pin) to run an old MB

Yea, that's what gets me too, the PSU goes on instantly when installed in the original system but won't go when shorted. I even tried another PSU form a different system and got the same result. Both of those PSU's are out of old Dell boxes if that makes any difference. Not sure why I would...

Getting an ATX power supply (24 pin) to run an old MB

I have an old Abit VH6T motherboard I am trying to bench test but a known working power supply will not turn on when connected to the MB. The power supply works in the system I am borrowing it from so I know it functions properly. I have memory, a boot drive and a video card/monitor connected...

Finding a cpu heat sink clip for an Abit VH6T Motherboard

Thanks for all the input. The mention of a metal one made me do some more searching and I found one on amazon for $5 delivered. The trick is figuring out the correct terminology to use for the search. Also, I wasn't trying to sell or trade here, was only looking for info to find a clip.

Finding a cpu heat sink clip for an Abit VH6T Motherboard

I have an old Abit VH6T Socket 370 motherboard I had bought many years back for an upgrade but never used it. Cleaning out and decided to put it up on eBay and when I took the heat sink off the verify what processor was installed and when putting the clip back on, it broke. So, anyone know...
