    Looking for Gigabyte Ethernet Switch

I need a 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet Switch with preferably more than 8 ports, ideally more than 12 for my business. It needs to be durable (as it will be constantly in use) and work with Debian 5.0, Mac OS X v10.6 and XP. The Netgear Prosafe GS108 would be on the lower-mid range for my price...

They'll send you a warranty repair computer or possibly refurbished (try and check the serial on it. they tried to pull this on me. However, they did send back my previous computer which I harvested the 'organs' from, I mean parts.) As for specs, they'll send you the more basic level...

What's the longest you've left your computer on for?

I left this Inspiron 1150 on everyday without a reboot for at least 7 months. I had it running to an external monitor so I'd just turn the monitor off but never the computer. Thing was built like a tank and weighed about the same.

    HP DV6000T video problems.

From what I've gathered you: 1. Have a semi-functioning HP DV6000T with a non-functioning LCD that is not cracked or broken, 2, The video card functions to some extent by displaying to an external display, yet the LCD does not work. 3. The board could very well be failing, or it could be a poor...

narrowed it down to these 2 laptops

Toshiba has always been a generally reliable company, but the HP far surpasses the Toshiba quality wise. I'm using an HP with and AMD processor right now, I don't think I'd be as pleased if it was a Toshiba.

New Laptop - Format or Not Format?

If I was to format the drive I would download all the necessary drivers and store them onto a usb flash drive for the specific model. Then format the drive entirely and put a fresh install of the OS. The drivers will be easily retrieved from the flash drive ... etc

    Windows 7 or XP?

You know XP is stable, the bottom of your laptop also has a product key for XP. Windows 7 might not be as stable ... err. Have you ever considered Fedora? (You can get the hat if you like as well.)
