    I installed Acronis drive manager after the drive was always accessing data. It scored only 18% and current pending sector count and offline uncorrectable sector count r/w operation failed. I then installed Seagates seatools to check drive. It failed the short and long generic tests.

    I have the Plextor 716-SA. I have it plugged into the Nvidia SATA ports. I installed the lastest firmware. I havent burned anything yet, but it reads Silent hunter3 and I copied files from a CD-R. Will have to check out the DVD burner this weekend.
