Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think it's the folding@home running in background. Guess my PC is a step down from what I had before (Windows 10 on HP Z420 Xeon with 32gb RAM). Didn't have any issue before on that pc
I feel that years ago, the f@h client could automatically reduce the core usage to a set level when PC was not in idle. Does the idle setting on the new web-client completely turn off the folding?
Hi all,
I don't know where to get started but I want to investigate running localized AI for parsing through my documents such as a PDF Library having hundreds of GBs of books and also my own personal writings and notes. I'm an author so I have a lot of material that I've written over the years...

I think locking keeps people from necro'ing really old posts. But it's true that it's so hard to get information sometimes and now many things are on videos which is more time consuming to find out something.
Every good thing comes to an end, even Reddit or [H]
Thermalright peerless assassin air-cooler seems to be a good budget cooler that I have seen recommended.
Regarding adding case fans, maybe stick to the same brand already in your case. Different brands have different flow rate. Maybe that will cause turbulence in the case?
I'm thinking to get the i7 12700k. I am looking for motherboard options. What do you think of the Gigabyte B760M DS3H? I think it has most of the features.
Reviews I read mention something about throttling due to heat. Is that something I should worry about. Part of my workflow is occasionally...
Yes, I do have a GT1030 gfx card that I plan to use and 32GB RAM. Sorry if I made it seem like I was doing heavy computing. I do want to use some cycles to run Folding@home.
It's really confusing to compare the CPUs and their naming. What do you think of the following CPU ranging in price from...
Hi all,
I am thinking of building a PC. Upgrading from an HP Z420 (Intel Xeon with 32 GB RAM and Nvidia K4000 (not sure on gfx though)).
So I had wanted to upgrade my parents PC and bought some parts but the CPU/mobo I bought had some issues and I didn't have time to figure it out (I live in...
Hi all,
I'm currently on an HP z420 workstation (Xeon E5-1620 with 32 GB ram) and thinking of building a new PC. Its for office work, some small graphics and video editing. What should I look for with CPU, motherboard, and ram?
I have a separate videocard (Nvidia GT1030) and PSU and case...
Thanks for the advice. I just want to clarify that I feel that consumer products are only what I need. I know enterprise/server hardware is more safe but I doubt its needed for my use. After all, these companies supply consumer-grade hardware that most people use without much complaint. Thanks...
Hi all,
I'm wondering if the prices have stabilized for video cards? It used to be very expensive last 2 years. I'm also on a budget, maximum I can go around $250 and the unit has to last minimum 5 years. I don't need big power. Don't really play latest gpu-intensive games. But I do want to use...
