I'm returning it.
Not happy with the difference in temps between CCD's and clocks. Remounted it several times and also tried a different cooler, always the same.
I'll report back when I get e new CPU.
Yeah, I've done 4 remounts and the cooler in different orientations. Always the same 10°C difference. Mounting pressure seems good also.
I'll try to change around the standoffs, just to rule out everything.
This is Cinebench R20 multicore load, but the 10°C difference is there always in multithreaded loads.
If I run PBO "overclock" it's also over a 10°C difference. My problem is the high temps on CCD1. CCD2 seems pretty good.
Also seems to only boost to 4,75ghz in single core loads on Cinebench...
Seems like I got really unlucky with one of the CCD's on my 5900x.
Using a NZXT X63. Running pump and fans at around 50-60%, but no difference at 30% or 100%. Tried to reseat the cooler 4 times in different orientations, but always the same.
This is running at locked 1.256V (1.3V in bios with...
Ok, so I've tried Esxi, Hyper-v, Xen and some other stuff but I've gotta say this new version of Proxmox is really frigging fantastic.
All the features of high availability, backup, and scalability of the free hyper-v server and with the friendly easy setup of Esxi.
Best of both worlds...

That's all. So yes, probably a firewall reset or something.

Without thinking, I rebooted a Server 2012 R2 machine after running Windows Update.
Now I can't ping or connect to the host itself (running static IP), but the virtual machines on the same server are just fine (using one of them as a OpenVPN server to connect to the network)...
How can...
Vmware has released an update for esxi 5.1
https://hostupdate.vmware.com/software/VUM/OFFLINE/release-368-20121217-718319/ESXi510-201212001.zip
It should fix the PCI-passthrough problems... Let's hope there is also a USB-passthrough fix.
Hi.
I have underclocked a 3,3Ghz cpu to 2,8Ghz to reduce heat, powerconsumption +++.
Esxi is still reporting the cpu as 3,3Ghz. Is there some way to change this in Esxi?
The problem I'm seeing is that the virtual machine is getting 100% load, but esxi sees this as only about 80%...
I may sound stupid, but what is an AIO??
I was hoping to put in a "tower" heatsink as these are generally better than the flat laying versions like the C14 and TC14CS....

Hi.
I want to get a bigger heatsink for my cpu but the computer is mounted in a 4U 19" rack case, and the tallest heatsink it can accommodate is 152mm and most good (noctua d14) are about 160mm...
Does anyone know of a great heatsink that would fit? And YES, I want it as big as possible...
