I just bought a new monitor and reformatted my PC with a fresh copy of windows 7 pro 32bit. The monitor works great and is currently running at 1920 x 1080 with a refresh rate at 60Hz. I also have another monitor running at 1440 x 900 in dual monitor setup as extended display.
When I get off...
6950 for sure. With this if you EVER wanted to you could go triple monitor display no problems with this single card where as with Nvidia you would need to buy another $250 card to do so. I always look at my buys on how I can use them in the feature.
Xfx just dropped the price of their 6950...
Corsair designed these coolers (H50/H70) to be mounted any way you want for any case setup. So the position of the pipes should not have any effect. If you are idling at 50c on a stock clock you need to double check and make sure the pump/fans are working. Next make sure you have proper airflow...
Nice post. Lots of information and questions answered right there.
Thanks for the help, I wonder if my new sandybridge 2600k system will do any better (after they get the recall sorted out by May)?
Well i just ran the WinRAR benchmark and got 1558 score (not sure if thats high or low).
Also I know that windows 7 requires 1g of RAM to operate so im sure having only 1g extra for background tasks, programs, games, etc will start to choke my system. I multitask like nothing else always...
Friends specs seems kind of pointless to list considering im trying to find out how long it takes other people to extract a 2G or larger file using WinRAR to compare to my speed to see if I am getting the most out of my system or if i need to go back to 4G of ram.
My comp sepcs below:

Just to get an average here, I think I noticed a speed reduction in extracting large files with WinRAR. I recently gave a friend of mine a 2g ram stick to use with his PC and ever since I have noticed a major performance reduction on my current system. Noticeably with file extraction with...
I am currently using a 19inch Acer monitor running at 1440x900 resolution. I am usually sitting about 2 and a half to 3 feet away from the monitor and was wondering if getting a 27 inch monitor would be to much for that close or if it would be fine?
I used a 17inch monitor before i got this...
Ya, I just went to newegg today to re-do a price quote on a sandy bridge build and saw that Newegg no longer had any sandy bridge processors. Good thing I was waiting a few months to buy the new sandy bridge CPU, had a feeling this might happen (with new technology it always does) Wont be...
So I have decided to go with AMD over nvidia this time just to try them out, been with nvidia for my entire life so time to try something new (not to say i dont like nvidia cards). Also, I would like to run tripple monitor one day and want to have the option instead of being forced to buy a 2nd...
Ya i have read multiple reviews for both cards and have yet to found a single winner. Most reviews saying one thing and others saying something different. Im thinking of skipping all this madness and just going with the EVGA SCC+ GTX 460 and call it quits considering its $199 at newegg.
Can anyone tell me which card is better between the two below and why?

So im looking at another gaming build this time will a little higher budget and was looking into getting a video card that will at last keep me playing the latest games (FPS, RTS, MMO, ETC) for the next 2 to 3 years. Im not really a fan boy although i have bought nothing but EVGA in the past due...
