    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

#107 I have been on the same page as you, but I must say the experience of this screen is second to none. I have tried a 40" but was not super fond of the experience in either windows or games - I felt it was too high and I had to move my head up and down. With this screen the aspect and size is...

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

Any of you guys with nvidia cards tried to do a manual overclock via CRU profile to hit 75hz/80hz? Maybe that would work without skipping frames when freesync is enabled.

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

It will "run" in 75hz, but it will skip frames, unless the strobe backlight mode is enabled. And until nvidida pulls the finger out and start supporting Freesync. :-)

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

I live in Denmark and have been aniticipating the release of this monitor in Europe. I received it Friday after having it shipped from UK. Because of Brexit the <1000£ was a fantastic offer. They also just announced that the next batch will be 150£ more expensive. Having played a little with...

QNIX UHD4020R - New Korean Monitor - 40" UHD FreeSync Curved

Looks like a great screen. Must be same panel that Philips is launching too, exepct with Freesync and LOS/Gaming settings? I wonder what the Freesync range is, and if the panel can be overclocked. BTW those who do custom ultra-widescreen resolutions on 40" TV's (like 3860x1600) would Freesync...

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

It plays like any other regular 60hz monitor with nvidia cards. You just can't use the adaptive sync and overclock it to 75hz. :-) Ask nvidia to play ball with the open adaptive sync standard and not just stick to their own tech. Adaptive sync is freely available but nvidia just refuse to...

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

I wouldn't touch that motion blur with a fireproof stick! That strobe light sounds absolutely terrible!

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

#74 There is not much choice. 3440x1440 100hz is max with DP1.2 so this monitor with 3840x1600 is also at peak DP1.2 bandwidth. We NEED DP1.3/1.4 to start coming out, but it is long in the making. Graphics cards just came this summer and displays are still nowhere to be seen. Not even prototypes...

    Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K

You mean with 2x1080 you can't get decent frames? OMG.... :-S

    LG 38UC99 - 37.5'' 3840x1600 75Hz IPS FreeSync

That press release is hillarious. Must be written by a marketing guy that has no idea what he is writing. Amazing they can pull such a fail. "With its 21:9 UltraWide Curved Monitor, LG 38UC99 brings images to life as it offers 3440 x 1440 QHD resolution" LOL - eh the monitor is a 24:10 monitor...

    Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K

Looks like we are lucky in Europe, because we have a 43" KS7500, and according to this overview (Samsung's 2016 TV line-up - full overview - FlatpanelsHD) the only difference is twin-tuner (non-issue) and speakers (also non-issue if you use headset). I hope the difference really is only that...

    Samsung UN40KU6300 40-Inch 4K

Thats not at all a certainty. Often you can jump up in price and all you get are tons of TV features, apps, smart-functions etc that you have absolutely no use for when using it as a PC monitor. You could get the exact same experience from a 500$ TV than you would from a 1000$ TV. That is why we...

    Samsung UHD vs SUHD TV

Yeah but in this case the 49" is always on offer cheap, while the 43" of the same model is never on offer so much more expensive. And I can only imagine a slim amount of users wanting a 43 over a 49 for TV living room usage. It's probably the market for 43 that is too small so I'm afraid we will...

    Samsung UHD vs SUHD TV

Thank you for the explanation! However I still don't fully understand how the HDR will work with PCs? If I buy a HDR TV will I get an extra setting in the control panel to enable HDR or highter color bit? You write that the new W10 Anniversary now supports HDR so it must be an extra setting...
