Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I think Skillz suggestion is bang on, I've done some builds with Fractal cases and can confirm they are *incredibly* quiet to the point of being inaudible.
A little note (not to take away from Skillz's suggestion), I am in a similar boat but in my case the wife doesn't want to see -or- hear...
Some background:
My wife is hesitantly supportive of my DC hobby. Basically, I'm allowed to pursue DC as long as the following criteria are met:
She doesn't have to see a room full extra computers (out of sight)
She doesn't have to hear any extra noise (fans humming, etc.)
I chip in extra...
How high do you figure these things can be stacked when fully loaded with CPU only setup, say 2p Xeon or Opteron setup (I'm thinking about Rosetta@Home [CPU based boinc project] crunching cluster)? Any idea how stable these things would be if they were stacked say 6 to 8 units high?
Antec stands for reliability, efficiency, and overall dependability! I would use this to build a new folding@home rig and help humanity with the [H]orde!
Looks like the issues have been resolved, if you can call it an issue - what actually appears to have happened is a huge swath of new users joined the project due to it now being bundled with a new DC platform and it caused a big logjam as their servers were pushed beyond their concurrent...
Come over to BOINC, there are lots of awesome projects to choose from. Rosetta@home is still in the protein space but from a very different angle and they've recently made some very interesting headway in their research. They also keep a very active thread on their main forums where they keep...
Hello All,
It's been a long time since I've posted in here (years, I believe). I haven't really participated in F@H much recently either (though I've done and am doing a bunch of BOINC stuff).
I have recently been browsing these forums and have stumbled across a few people eluding to 'PG...
Not to get political about this, but as a Canadian watching all the debates in the US about universal health care, I have to tell you this is a prime example of why I'm so proud to be Canadian and how great our health care system is. As a previous poster said, this surgery was FREE! Also, a...
I'm also impressed with the number of FLOPS comming out of all of the GPUs now.. Looking at over half a petaflop and growing fast... It is like a HPC dream come true!
