Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I got rid of precision X and the problems went away. Using afterburner, I can do about +50 on clock and +600 on memory with no voltage control(its greyed out).
Not to hijack a thread but I just got my classy yesterday and played around with precision X. Just following the simple advice on here, I couldn't even get my card to even do a minimal OC without eventually seeing black screens or the driver error. The temps dont even get that high. Oh yeah...
That brings up another interesting issue too. I'm quite interested in a non ref 290 but who knows how long I'd have to wait. I doubt seeing non refs by the new year--let alone 3 weeks from now. I suspect Murphy will stick it to me regardless.
Looking on ebay, it looks like a ton of those...
I know its speculative at this point but I am really caught between snagging a Lightning (or maybe a Ti if I can talk myself into it) before the 26th (for the bundle) or waiting on a potential deal on black friday/cyber monday weekend. Since i have never been in the market for any computer...
Well knowing the 290x was coming out, I opted to wait for video on my current build and pulled my old EVGA 7800 GTX out of my old gaming rig from 2005!
Im using a 7800 GTX (yeah thats two zeros) till this damn 290x comes out. Don't laugh though, that 8 year old card will still play most games on at least low settings(my laptops gpu is better lol). I seriously considering going with a 780 very soon, though, with all of the apparent delay.
Well my 2nd Newegg motherboard RMA in 3 weeks arrived in Whittier this morning and was approved within the last few hours. No horror stories to report today. However, I video recorded the entire process of removing the mobo from my case (along with detailed video of the CPU removal and close...
It's being RMAed to newegg. I'm going to video the whole repack. I had no problems with the first motherboard RMA about 3 weeks ago. Newegg took it no problem and immediately next day'ed this current one.
It isn't OC'ed currently
Updated bios - no effect
Windows repair/windows restore/acronis image (even different restore points) - didnt work
Reinstalled Win 7 (genuine OEM) - didn't work
There's a dozen wireless I can see in my neighborhood on all my other devices. I had excellent...
