Which part of my system is the culprit? Please help

Okay what the fuck. I took out the RAM and put it back in for the umpteenth time today and now it decides to work? Seriously, what the hell? Is this a fluke? I'm still worried if it's deciding to work so intermittently. There might still be a problem. Or not. I have no idea.

Which part of my system is the culprit? Please help

None of those are possible to do. Mine is the only desktop in the house and I don't have any other spare parts.

Which part of my system is the culprit? Please help

Okay, specs for my system are in my sig. So I've had this rig for about a year and a half. This morning, it doesn't seem to work. The power button LED lights up, the fans on the videocard, CPU, PSU, and the case fans all start revving up. The fans STAY ON. I do not get any motherboard beeps...

    Radeon 5770 and PCI-E 1.0 mobos

Right, see, I was thinking the same but I've googled and there are some reports of 5770s not even POSTing on 1.0 mobos.

    Radeon 5770 and PCI-E 1.0 mobos

Okay so my 4850 died this morning (two red lights on back of card, no display, fan still spins). So I want to take the opportunity to upgrade to a 5770. But I've heard that the 5770 has problems with PCI-E 1.0 mobos. I use a Gigabyte GA-72VM-S2 mobo, which uses the nforce 610i chipset. Will this...

The 8.10 hotfix #2 drivers. I tried doing what you said, but it didn't help. :( Temps never go beyond 60C.

    Lesser performance than expected

I do get performance problems in everything else (although like I said, it's never unplayable. I haven't played a PC game and have my FPS drop below 30). I already posted my 3DMark figures.

    Lesser performance than expected

Yeah, ran one overnight actually. No errors. Also, I don't get unplayable FPS. Just less than what I thought my system was capable of. The system in my sig gets 11k 3DMarks btw. I know 3DMark is horse shit but just throwing that out there for you guys to gauge.

    Lesser performance than expected

OK, I've suspected that my system has been under-performing for a while. I've been reading benchmarks and reading the benchmark results of other users. Basically my system isn't pushing out the FPS that many benchmarks say it should. Maybe there's a bottleneck in my system, I'm not sure. So I'm...

Is the Gigabyte GA-73VM-S2 decent for OCing?

I tried OCing my E8400 to 3.6ghz on the stock fan but got BSODs upon Windows bootup so I assume this board's OCing potential is limited. But can I at least do a light OC such as 3.2ghz?

New system doesn't detect HD 4850

So I got my new pre-built computer from AVADirect today and there's a problem. I'm currently using the on-board video but Windows and the CC install doesn't seem to detect my 4850. I've made sure the card is connected and all the power supply connectors are snugly plugged in. Can anyone help me...

Last card you bought from ATI and Nvidia?

ATI - Radeon HD 4850. Before that was a Radeon 7000. NVidia - GeForce 6600GT.

    4870 + Corsair CMPSU-450VX

Hey guys. Currently running a 4850 and it works great. But some time down the road I may upgrade to a 4870. Would the PSU in my sig provide enough power for this card?
