OK, I've suspected that my system has been under-performing for a while. I've been reading benchmarks and reading the benchmark results of other users. Basically my system isn't pushing out the FPS that many benchmarks say it should. Maybe there's a bottleneck in my system, I'm not sure. So I'm asking [H].
What tipped me off to this in the first place is Far Cry 2. Guru3D says that the HD 4850 (their test system uses the same processor as mine, although mine is slightly OCed to 3.2Ghz) should get an average of 50 FPS on max settings at 1280x1024 with 4x AA. My resolution is 1280x720, I use NO AA, and use second-most highest settings. My average FPS is 38.
It's not just FC2 that I feel my system is underperforming in. Mainly I feel this way because lots of people with lesser systems report better performance than what I'm seeing.
I use the latest drivers along with the latest Windows and DirectX updates. Can anyone tell me if I'm seeing a bottleneck or anything else?
EDIT: The system in my sig gets 11k 3DMarks btw. I know 3DMark is horse shit but just throwing that out there for you guys to gauge.
