Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
After doing some more research on the specific model of the laptop, the HP G62 series, it seems that there is a common problem with having a black screen and no POST.
It seems that many people are having weak solder points on their GPU's and it causes this black screen. I'm not sure if its just...
Hey guys,
A friend of mine thought it would be a good idea to reinstall windows from WIndows and not install from boot.
The windows install went as far as the "Completion stage" and thought it froze so he restarted the computer. Ever since then the screen when started just has a black...
Even if you don't go with wood, which I think wouldn't quite fancy everyone, you could at least stick with the engraved lines that span the case as that looks excellent. That in itself is enough to give some flare to the case.
Maybe you could even use a different color on the lines to make...
Thanks a bunch for the link WiSk. I think for my purposes I could just relocate the line filter/power socket to just outside the PSU.
So about 13mm is the most I can shave off after removing the line filter?
I like this idea. +1
At the end of the day it's just the side panel and the front gets the clean look everyone desires.
Since I assume the side panels are interchangeable, this shouldn't really change the cost of production at all since a clean side panel has to be made anyways.
I barely needed a cable extension using a full size tower like a Corsair 600t. I can't imagine a 12" deep case will even justify the need for a cable extension. :)
Hey Wisk. As soon as I read your sentence it dawned on me. I've been through your Compact Splash build log a couple times before! My only problem is that I don't have the tools or skills to build a custom enclosure for this PSU and was just thinking of modifying the existing housing.
How many...
Three questions to ask:
#1 Has anyone modified an SFX PSU casing to slim it's 63.5mm dimension?
#2 How much clearance is there between the fan and the components underneath?
#3 Would I have an issue if my radiator fans pushed warm air through the PSU and exhausted it?
#4 If yes to #3, could...
In my personal experience, when I had the Bitfenix Prodigy for two years, the USB ports on the sides were far enough away from me that I always reached to the back to plug something in.
Using the side ports would be nearly the same as reaching to the back. The majority of people put their computers to their right. It's second nature. You would still have to reach.
If type C USB is going to become mainstream in the near future, current USB technology will be obsolete and the...
Im not sure if I like the USB's on the side. I usually sigh when I see cases like this. (Ex. Bitfenix Prodigy).
I still prefer option #2, or the power button at the back.
If you are thinking of moving the USB's to the side you might as well move the power button over there too.
