I'll be damned, but I found a solution (that works for me).
When researching this issue, the general consensus talked about any '3rd party programs' that somehow hook into the clipboard. In my situation, it was TeamViewer, which syncs the clipboard between the local host and the remote session...
Tried googling this issue, as I'm also experiencing this issue with a spreadsheet on office 2013.
Ironically, this thread is one of the results. ;)
If I find anything worth mentioning I'll post a reply here.
Got me thinking...I checked the 'bay just now, cheapest new is $900, with one used @ $800. Looked at previous auctions, all listed as new (except for one) went for $900 and up.
Adjusting my price accordingly.
Thanks again sc0tty8! :D

Have fun on your OC!
So, the server (LTS) version didn't work out after all. Kept getting "cpu stuck for 61 seconds" error on each processor thread. Uninstalled the kraken, and it worked fine. /sigh
I'm installing the desktop version (10.10 x64) right now using the Network/Minimal CD link, so I can go command line...
Musky, as always, your guidance and information is greatly appreciated. I wish I had half of your patience. ;)
Feedback item for those not installing the Ubuntu Desktop version...
For Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS (Lucid Lynx), this didn't work. Instead, I had to use:
sudo apt-get install...
