I think the performance is pretty good for 1950X. What is it barely ok in? For video there are applications that don't use all of its threads and on the gaming side even less of those threads are used.

Setup a 1950X last night. I didn't have any trouble installing win 8.1 on a 960 pro NVMe drive with the MSI carbon X399 board. In another thread it seemed like it might be an issue depending on what build Win 10 was being installed...no issues upgrading to Win 10. Will do a fresh install once...

I'm not sure how the measurements line up, but wouldn't the heat sinks on existing coolers be gimped somewhat since they are so small relative to the TR4 heat spreader?

But where are the TR4 coolers for Threadripper?....that is a whole lot of chip to keep cool and nothing showing up yet.
