    8800gts 640mb Overclock?

I can tell you that I have an evga 640MB version, and even with completely stock speeds I get weird memory errors and CTD's at every map change (thankfully not every round end). I still play though, its just hard when playing with a friend who doesn't crash and trying to stay on the same team...

    8800GTS temps

Also, my fan speed is at about 1530 RPM...is this consistent with normal ones?

    8800GTS temps

so i tried leaving my 80mm chassis fan unplugged and now my load temp is 67C...and idles around 52C. Does this make sense to anyone else? I ran the same game, same settings, same amount of time. One thing I had considered was negative pressure around the card, but the fan was blowing air into...

    8800GTS temps

So I tried to get a good load temp and with NO OC'ing of any components, nvidia monitor told me my GPU temp was 77C, but the only real graphics intensive game I have atm is Rainbow 6: Vegas. So I played for about 25 minutes (all the time I had for now) at 12x9 resolution, all the settings...

    8800GTS temps

The fan is blowing, but it seems pretty weak. You can't feel any vibrations touching the fan housing and I can barely feel warm air being blown out the back (idling at 63C). I usually have a 80mm chassis fan blowing air onto the card from outside the case. When I take the side panel off (and...

    8800GTS temps

Just curious, what are your guys' idle/load temps for a 640 8800GTS? I have an evga (stock speeds atm), and I'm concerned about upping the clocks because of my temperatures. nVidia monitor gives me 65C idle and this doesn't seem good. My system is at 34 and cpu is at 39. I'm not totally sure...

    evga 680i minor issues

    1. IDE, but I haven't touched the jumpers and it worked fine before. I'll check the cable. 2. Thanks, I'll try chassis fan 2 or something 3. I'm not using the extra fan, it said only to use if overclocking, which I'm not yet. To be clear, this temperature is the one I found in the BIOS...

    evga 680i minor issues

I'm having a few minor issues with my evga 680i (T1) and I'm wondering if you guys have any idea whats up. FYI I'm not overclocking at all (yet). 1) The mobo doesn't even recognize my second DVD drive when its plugged in, even though it has power (can open/close). My first DVD drive works...

    Corsair 620 and GTX's

So I've read [H]'s review on the Corsair HX620 that it can supposedly handle SLI'd 8800GTX's (despite not being on the nVidia certified list for GTX's). Personally, I have no plans to SLI GTX's (GTS's for me) but I'm wondering: since each GTX needs 2 PCI-e connectors and the Corsair has only 2...

    8800GTS SC or not?

So whats the deal with these 8800GTS "Superclocked" cards that eVGA (and maybe others, I don't know) put out? Are they worth the extra $30 or so? Basically what I'm asking is, is there any reason to buy the SC instead of just OC'ing it yourself?

    4-Pin to PCI-e adapters

It says +12V1 and +12V2 at 15A and 18A respectively. So 2 rails right? Does it matter which connector to use on each chain?

    4-Pin to PCI-e adapters

So I've seen the PCI-e adapters that take 2 4-pin connectors and produces a 6-pin PCI-e connector. I'll admit I don't know much about PSU's so here's my question: If my PSU has 2 chains with 3 connectors each, will I be alright? It seems wrong to take 2 from the same chain. I have 2...

    8800GTS 320 at 1680x1050

How about a C2D E6400? I probably won't go quad until they come down in price a lot and maybe then I'll have enough for a new PSU too. On nVidia's site they say for a C2X, you only need a 400W PSU and the 26A or whatever it is. I only have 1 HDD and 2 optical drives.

    4-Molex to PCI-e?

I've seen the adapter that takes 2 4-pin molex connectors and combines them to a PCI-e plug. How do you calculate the available current to the PCI-e? Basically I'm wondering if I use one of these with my 480W PSU thats rated +12V1 @ 15A and +12V2 @ 18A will be enough for an 8800GTS and quad...
