I'm not sure Camino or Firefox will be any faster than Safari 2.x. If you want speed, look at OmniWeb. The only problem I have with it is there are a few pages I use which don't render properly. Probably worth giving it a go, however.

In 10+ years of Mac sales, my experience is that if someone doesn't buy AppleCare at the time they buy their machine then it's very unlikely that they'll buy it later. Things happen, they forget, etc.
