Perhaps we quibble over terms here. It sounds like you're pining for better configuration options - video cards, bigger standard HD, more standard RAM, etc. Typically, this is called a refresh or just a configuration change. To a point, that's fair enough. But while resellers such as CDW...
Guys. . .my comments were about what is - not what should be. Sure it would be nice to have a workstation gaming rig. . .but gaming just is not the target market for the Mac Pro. It just isn't. The target market for the Mac Pro is design professionals - who, for the most part, are just fine...
I too was wondering what the OP really expects from a Mac Pro. Historically, Apple hasn't included the absolute newest video cards in anything. Because their target audience for machines such as the Mac Pro generally find the video card options provided by Apple to be perfectly acceptable...
I'm not sure Camino or Firefox will be any faster than Safari 2.x. If you want speed, look at OmniWeb. The only problem I have with it is there are a few pages I use which don't render properly. Probably worth giving it a go, however.
What was the configuration your ordered? If it's a standard box configuration, why not see if CDW or Small Dog have them? If it's a custom config, is it such that you can get a standard config and do the upgrades (memory, HD, etc) yourself?
More often than not, if a product has been out for...
In 10+ years of Mac sales, my experience is that if someone doesn't buy AppleCare at the time they buy their machine then it's very unlikely that they'll buy it later. Things happen, they forget, etc.
I did say that I wished Apple OR THE MOBILE CARRIER (AT&T) would offer phone insurance - which is available for virtually every other mobile phone. I simply expressed a wish that AT&T (or Apple) would offer a service which they currently do not. And it's not like I said that they should...
AppleCare for iPhone Page
Basically, it's $69 to extend your hardware coverage to 2 years from date of purchase. Like all AppleCare products, it's simply a warranty extension and does not cover accidents, abuse, etc.
Personally, with a mobile phone I'm much more concerned about losing or...
Here's what you'll need -
- In leiu of Wndows Media Player, use the free download of Flip4Mac. This will allow Windows Media files to play in Quicktime. There is/was a Windows Media Player for Mac, but it hasn't been updated in a LONG time. Flip4Mac is much better and more current.
- MS...
As I mentioned previously in this thread. . .about the only reasons for new hardware are larger storage and/or HSDPA capability. And when the time is right to integrate those into the iPhone will laregly depend on factors outside of Apple's direct control. Most everything else can be done via...
